We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel! Considering it was quite a low budget hotel, we had a great stay! ||We arrived at around 10am and check in wasn't untill 1pm but the lovely lady at reception was kind enough to book us in early and we were in our room by 10:20!. ||The room was simple enough but it done the job, it was clean, quite a large size, beds were comfy, it has a large bathroom, TV (with English channels) and tea/coffee station. Although the beds were very close together (we booked two single beds) so this may be a problem if you like your own space. ||The location was fantastic! We used the Eurostar, it was about a 15 mins taxi ride from the midi train station, which cost us about 15 Euro. ||But the hotel is a literally a 5 min walk to central Brussels shopping centre and about 10/15 mins walk from the square, there is plenty of shops and places to eat around the hotel, there is a KFC just across the road. ||A nice selection of food for breakfast although some of the things are all a bit dotted around the room. |There is also a taxi rank across the road from the hotel so we had no issues getting a taxi when we had to leave. |Just one thing to note is that it is on a busy main road and our room was at the front of the hotel so it could be quite noisy and we would hear at least 1 emergency service car every half hour or so.|But we would definitely...
Read moreThis hotel was in a great location at Roger Metro -take your time to work out where all your exists are as big station- .There are loads of places to visit from here, so brilliant base for getting round the city. For the first time in 40 years of travel I was upgraded to that corner room below the Dome in the picture so I can’t review the single room..I’m not complaining - it was great…I could do a cartwheel if I wanted in the room as it was nice and spacious. The bed was really comfy and although traffic was busy all day and night, I got a great sleep.I had a great bath and the room had everything I needed - toiletries, tea and coffee, fridge, trouser press, tv and. the heating was on. The windows opened fully - traditional ones . The room is old but as long as it’s clean I don’t bother with that.|The staff were friendly.|The dining room was very modern compared to the rest of the building. The breakfast was buffet style and enough for all tastes - don’t expect toast . There is no toaster. I enjoyed my breakfast every day .|There are loads of places to eat on your doorstep- for the young ones..KFC, McDs, Dominoes etc and an amazing Grill Restaurant a couple of doors down and plenty of other style of places.|I would certainly book...
Read moreHôtel Le Dôme is an older hotel in Art Nouveau Style, part of the cultural heritage in Brussels. I booked a single room (room 511): it was clean and spacious but a bit dated with blend interior design and the bed was uncomfortable with a cheap spring matrass that showed it's age: one spring even poked inside my back. The view from the room wasn't very appealing. (see photos). Reception and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast itself for a four star hotel was below par: some basic breakfast pastries and bread, tasteless scrambled eggs, cold hard boiled eggs, no option offered to have fried eggs or omelet, some fruits and vegetables. Although the hotel is situated in central Brussels, this is more to the north side which isn't the most appealing side of Brussels for tourists, especially not in the evening. Walking distance from here to the main square is about 10 to 15 minutes. Summarized: at € 90 for a single room it is overpriced for what it is, I would rather rate it 3 stars, but if you appreciate old but dated and worn charm, maybe this is...
