Maison Margo — Hotel in Ghent

Our stay: 2 adults, 2 teenage sons for 3 nights in the Room “Chocolate”.

Communication: Previous to our arrival the communication with the owner Carine was very fast, pleasant and concise. Besides all infos for check-in Carine gave us important information about the low-emission-zone rules in Ghent and all necessary internet links which I probably would have missed and about parking close to the hotel (2 public parking garages in walking distance). As in our communications online, in-person, Carine was a very pleasant and attentive host.

Location: Perfect. The hotel is located in the city center in walking distance to all tourist attraction but, at the same time, situated in a quiet side street. The hotel has a very stylish wine bar (Parole) with a nice atrium where we finished our day with a nice glass of wine. Carine also gave us tips to great restaurants, which are also very close by; definitely walking distance.

The room: Clean. Big enough for us while spending most of the day outside. Very tasteful interior (even my teenage sons pointed out the nice décor). Carine warned us that noise from the atrium of the wine bar, which is open until about 23:30h, might be disturbing. We found that the ‘noise’ was just people conversing while drinking their wine. Not music, etc. We did hear people talking until about 23.00, but it wasn’t loud and it didn’t bother us at all.

All in all, we had a great stay. With the ease of reserving, check-in/out, the location, cleanliness, etc., it is a hotel that we will recommend to friends. It is a hotel that we will definitely come to stay at again during our next...

Kamers en locatie zijn inderdaad fantastisch maar -en voor ons was dat hele grote maar- het terras van het restaurant van dezelfde eigenaars ligt pal naast de kamer. Wij hadden een kamer op gelijkvloers (caramel) en gasten op terras zaten op halve meter voor ons enige ramen, met als gevolg dat je kamer steeds compleet moet verduisteren anders heb je inkijk van het ganse terras, je kan letterlijk meevlogen met de conversaties op het terras en zelf durfden we niet te luid spreken. Het gaat om een wijnbar, waar ik zelf een grote fan van ben voor alle duidelijkheid, maar na een paar wijntjes gaat het volume omhoog, dus slapen of rust op de kamer zit er niet in voor 23u30. Voor ons was het een ontgoocheling zeker omdat we geboekt hadden door de positieve recensies. Ik kan me voorstellen dat het in de winter niet het geval is dus dan zou ik zeker boeken, maar op een warm weekend in oktober was het...

We werden vrijdagavond al heel vriendelijk ontvangen door de gastvrouw.||||Ze legde alles goed uit omwille van de codes (geen sleutel). Zeer handig want je kan geen sleutel verliezen. ||||Wij hadden de Chocolat kamer die gelegen was op het binnenpleintje. Een kamer voor 4 personen. Wij waren hier met 3 aanwezig. Ruime kamer!||||Apart toilet, zeer goede regendouche, groot tweepersoonsbed met heel goede matras. ||Bovenaan waren er nog 2 enkel bedden onder het dak. ||Deze matrassen zijn iets harder.||||De kamer werd terug helemaal gepoetst toen wij waren gaan shoppen. GEWELDIG! || ||De kamer was helemaal in orde!!! Water op de kamer was een leuke extra.||||Beneden kan je dan ook meteen naar de SUPER gezellige wijnbar. Aanrader voor een gezellig avondje.||||Meteen in de winkelstraat gelegen en makkelijk bereikbaar met het openbaar vervoer (tram). PERFECTE ligging!!!||||Wij komen nog...
