I turned up on a Saturday afternoon without a booking and the friendly staff were more than happy to find me a table and all spoke perfect English. The cafe is very open and bright with an industrial feel. They offer free WiFi too. The food and drinks are all plant-based (vegan). They also have some vegan specialty food to buy and take home such as nut butters, dried mock-meat, tinned jackfruit and banana blossom, dried noodles, tinned coconut whipped cream, vegan mayo's, etc. and sustainable gifts like reusable coffee mugs and water bottles, tofu presses and the most gorgeous, extensive collection of vegan cookbooks I've ever seen. (In case the staff read this: The Happy Pear cookbooks would also fit very well with your offerings!) I enjoyed the delicious French Toast with yogurt and fruit. It was so tasty and vegan French Toast is a rare find! You can order from the breakfast or lunch menu all day which suits me as I love breakfast at lunch time. They also have some treats in a cabinet which I sadly didn't try. Unfortunately they charge 60cent for tap water which I feel is contradictory to their sustainable ethos. It encourages people to buy a packaged drink which is less sustainable than water, even if it is in glass. Still, I would definitely recommend a visit. It's dog-friendly too which is a big bonus! Thank you knol&kool. I will visit again on a future...

What a great dining experience! Warm, friendly, and attentive staff greeted us right away. They ensured we understood that this restaurant is a fully vegan restaurant. The atmosphere was bright and inviting with plenty of space for everyone. It was difficult to narrow down what we wanted to order since there were many enticing options. We ended up ordering a Full English Breakfast, Club Sandwich, and scone with clotted cream and jam. I have to say it's not every day that you can have a fully vegan Full English Breakfast. Everything on that platter was flavourful and well prepared. The vegan sausage on there had to be one of the best vegan sausages I've had the privilege of trying. They also sell the sausage in the very nice grocery store they run inside the restaurant. The club sandwich was also a nice choice as it was light yet fulfilling to eat if that makes any sense. The vegan egg salad on it was delicious! I would 100% recommend this place to others and I will definitely eat...

Really grateful to see vegan spots like this in a European city that would usually be considered not vegan friendly. We had delicious vegan meatballs in a lovely marinara sauce and mushrooms on toast with some delicious vegan cashew cheese. The homemade lemonade was lovely with notes of star anise really coming through.

The hazelnut chocolate ganache bar was incredible. Really tasty! The lemon tart was also lovely - what was just slightly off putting was when I saw the owner pick the tart up with her hands and put it in a takeaway box for me. When I raised this, the tart was exchanged for me with no fuss. The next day when I came to pick up the chocolate hazlenut bar, I saw the same lady sneeze, blow her nose with a tissue and continue serving like normal. Really off putting despite...

Dinner with the family after the Strong Viking event. It was a pleasure to have it at Knol&Kool. Evidently you do not need to eat dead animals to successfully enjoy the strong Viking! So, we tried the cheese burger, the lasagna and the two seitan dishes. Alle were gone rapidly and very tasty. Fries were fine, portion could be a big bigger....but yeah, we were very hungry after running, swimming and crawling in the mud. So maybe not everyone would like more. Dessert cakes were all super! Creamy and still vegan! Also excellent hummus and surprisingly tasty homemade square cheese croquets. Highly recommended as a starter!
