If we could give this more than 5 stars we would! Everything at Casa Cava is amazing. The owners, Cynthia and David, have taken attention to detail to a whole other level. This B & B is clearly a labor of love for them. There is very little they won't try to do for you, starting with anticipating your every need or want. We have traveled quite a lot and have stayed in everything from tents to very high-end resorts. We've never experienced people who cared so much for the details of their guests' surroundings and comfort, all while keeping everything informal, relaxed, and completely approachable.
The setting is breathtaking. As soon as you step onto the grounds & Tino whisks your bags away, all stresses melt, and you relax immediately.
Each Casita is decorated in its own beautiful, individual style. The rooms & bathrooms are large, comfortable and impeccably clean. The fridge is pre-stocked with drinks and treats, gratis. The bed & bedding is exceptionally comfortable. While each room has air conditioning, the ceiling fan and windows with excellent screens allowed us to sleep with just the island breezes keeping us cool, our favorite way to sleep. Each rooms' covered porch is the perfect place to relax and read or nap in the shade during the heat of the day.
The water on this side of the island is clean and clear, ready for swimming, floating, kayaking & SUP (both available for guest use). Or just relax poolside until it's time to cool off with a dip in the salt-water pool, or nap in the hammock in the shade.
Breakfast was a special treat every single day. Each morning brought something unique and delicious to eat. We do not usually eat breakfast, but we made sure to not miss one at Casa Cava. In fact, the mornings at Casa Cava were a highlight of our days. The delicious food, and interesting company of Cynthia & David, as well as the other guests, made for a wonderful start to each and every day.
The Casa Cava caretakers, Tino & Ivet were also delightful, and spoiled us with their care. We requested to have dinner on-site one night, and Ivet made us all a delicious traditional Belizean meal of stewed chicken, another highlight of our stay.
The golf cart ride from San Pedro town, while bumpy, was fun and entertaining. It is certainly different from how we are we are used to getting around, making the whole experience more of an adventure! And while we would have been perfectly happy to never leave the grounds, we were able to do quite a bit of exploring, golf-carting around to all parts of the Island.
There are some excellent restaurants for lunches and dinners just a short golf cart ride away. There are also a number of bars & grills that are within walking distance of the B&B. Between the restaurants, grills, and meals at Casa Cava, we had nothing but excellent food our entire stay.
Early evenings found us in the water, or on the dock, watching the spectacular sunsets every night. We requested a beachside fire a few of the nights, and enjoyed the company of our hosts & other guests, while relaxing in the dark, under the star-filled sky.
We simply fell in love with everything Casa Cava: The grounds, the views, the sunsets & sunrises, the rooms, the relaxation, the food, the people – the amazing owners, Cynthia & David, as well as Tino, Ivet and their adorable (but rarely seen or heard) little ones, and Moet, the sweetest resident pup ever! We look forward to returning to this...

Read moreIf you are thinking about spending your time in Belize at Casa Cava... Just DO IT! We just returned from the most lovely week on Ambergris Caye and our accommodations at Casa Cava simply made the trip perfect.
The rooms are absolutely gorgeous! We stayed in Casita 211. When I first walked in, I couldn't believe how roomy it was. It is so tastefully and beautifully decorated that you really do feel as though you are simply staying in a friend's immaculately decorated guest room. The bathroom and shower area are huge and just gorgeous as well. Its a very large space with plenty of storage and a private patio area where you can watch the spectacular sunsets.
Cynthia and David have thought of absolutely everything you could need from beach towels to sunscreen and so much more. There is an in room refrigerator and a microwave in the lounge area if needed. Robes, an in room safe and a coffee maker with daily replenishment were also provided as well as lots of other amenities too numerous to list. We felt absolutely pampered.
Breakfast every morning was a treat! From Belizean fry jacks to egg bites, flavorful yogurt and a different delectable bread or muffin every day, we always walked away with a full belly ready to take on the adventures of the day.
The amazing Tino and Ivet took such good care of us, keeping our room clean, making sure we had mosquito coils every morning and evening, keeping me in coffee and looking after every detail of our stay so that we never needed anything they had not already thought of.
In the end, I've never stayed anyplace that made me feel like an immediate part of the family like Casa Cava did. The owners have taken such care with this special property, you simply have to visit to understand. I really recommend that you do!
PS - there are lots of great photos of the casitas on the website. These photos are looking out from the front beach area over the...
