Read the reviews: Yes this place is visually better than others on Secret Beach and has the hype to it but if you’re coming to the beach for a good time, good food and a good experience- choose one of the other beach bars. The water is the same no matter the bar you’re at. This was the most unpleasant service that I’ve had on the island and I read previously that it was slow but it’s more so that the servers just don’t care enough to check on you. We ended up staying for 4 hours just because we didnt want to get out the water and switched bars and no longer cared about getting drinks. In this time they only checked on us once and I had to go flag down a server to get any others drinks. At the end the lady at check out not only tried to upcharge me for top shelf liqour that I had not purchased they also applied 20% gratuity automatically. I always tip no matter where I am or where I go - but after this service you can tell why they dont give you the option.

It’s sad because the 4 cocktails we did have were good - so the place has potential.

The food was comparative to any bar you stop at on the main road. If you actually care about your experience and arent just trying to fill out a checklist go...

Spotted this place online and had to check it out. It’s about a 20 minute drive to Secret Beach, which is not secret at all, from San Pedro. You can either take a taxi or rent a golf card, which is the preferred form of travel in and around San Pedro. They have tables set up in the ocean that the servers wait. It was great! They have beach seating and indoor seating if you want to avoid the sun. You can rent paddle boards and such while you’re there. We got there just before it opened and waded out to grab a table. They have a full service bar and restaurant. The server waded out and took our drink order and we asked for the shrimp ceviche appetizer. OMG!! It was without a doubt the best ceviche I’ve EVER had! EVER! We had a strawberry margarita and a pina colada. Both were good. They also have real good rum punch drinks that go down like water. Be careful with those! We ordered the shrimp and the fish tacos. Boy, were they good! I highly recommend any of these dishes. Especially the shrimp ceviche! They have kids menus and can deal with most any dietary restrictions or issues. It’s a great place to spend a day at the beach. I highly recommend the Blue Bayou Restaurant and Bar...

The moment we entered the water a waiter came to take our order. After taking our order I was asked for an ID card "for security reasons". Thinking about it, we should've left immediately. After bringing our order that was the last time we saw Johnny and had to seek another waiter. We couldn't even sit down comfortably on the chairs in the water because they were slimy and covered with algae. They probably haven't been cleaned in years. While settling our bill we complained about not receiving our complete order. The crossed eyed caucasian woman was rude and unreasonable. She insisted that we couldn't be compensated. After paying I had to ask for a receipt as none was given. The crossed eyed caucasian woman told me I can just take a picture of the order slips which I refused to do..those are not receipts🤦🏽‍♀️. After waiting a few minutes for a written receipt, I noticed it didn't even have a stamp on it. Belize Tax Office really needs to investigate this establishment as they are definitely scamming visitors and not...

Blue Bayou is thee place to go if you’re visiting Belize/San Pedro and want to have a good time. They’re the only bar in the area that offers in water service, and easily have the best views on Secret Beach. If you rent a golf cart to drive to the beach Blue Bayou has free parking, or you can catch a boat ride and they’ll help you step right off the boat and into the bar. The food is so good (get the nachos!), the drinks are delicious and the service and atmosphere are unmatched. While you’re at Blue Bayou, make sure to ask for Diego! He’s a fantastic server (kind and patient with a drunkish group of tourists who had no idea what they wanted to drink), and is also a regular and spear fisherman with loads of knowledge about the best places to go on the island. If you’re lucky you’ll get to meet his family who are also super sweet! He recommended the best drinks, the best bars, and the best place to get a last minute tattoo (which we did). Thank you Diego!!

Our 1st time in Belize and our 1st trip to Secret Beach. Read some reviews of the different places and settled on Blue Bayou. Since we did not try any other places, I cannot speak to them, and I am sure they are also good, but if I ever went back, I would head straight to Blue Bayou. We got there early and got a water table. I was shocked at how reasonable the drinks were. Assumed much higher prices because of the location, but paid less for a Belikin than a place we ate at downtown. Switched to mixed drinks for lunch and they were very good. Had the chicken nachos and was again amazed by the price and the amount. Overall had an amazing time. Music was perfect volume. Loud enough to hear, but not so loud you couldn't have a conversation. I know some reviewers complained about giving up a credit card or ID, but I gave them my driver's license and settled up at the end. Everything with the bill was spot on. Service was outstanding.
