Hotel Pousada Palos Verdes — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Pouso Alegre

My wife and I were looking for some romantic place to enjoy Valentine's Day, which in Brazil is celebrated on May 12th. We were told by some friends about Monte Verde (Green Mont) - a small and beautiful city located in the middle of Serra da Mantiqueira (Mantiqueira mountain range) -||and we became very excited about it. ||||The very first impression entering the room was caprice. Chocolate and sparkling wine were left as courtesy.||||Localization: The hotel stays on a calm and quiet place and boasts a wonderful view. It is about 700 meters away from the city center. Birds singing most of the time. If you have a 4x4 car you could hit the numerous dirt roads around the city and take full advantage of all farms that offer unforgettable local food and viewpoints. Perfection. ||||Room: Well arranged furniture, the decoration is sober and gracious, Logs to be used at fireplace are complimentary. The bathtub is at the second floor and allows us to benefit from the view while relaxing. (ps: not every room has a bathtub)||||Breakfast: Simple and delicious. Good food variety.||||Staff: Very attentive and sympathetic, yet discrete. Loved it.||||Bed: Egyptian bed-linen makes the difference for excellent sleep. Blankets were so soft. Mattress was soft. Sleep quality is great and necessary after busy days.||||Cost-benefits: We payed about US$1200 for 2 days, remembering we got here on a special Holliday (high season). Even though the cost is high, the benefits are clear. Top. I would definitively come back.||||At last, I would recommend this place specially to families, friends, and couples. My boyfriend and I visited Monte Verde over the New Year holiday for a 4 night stay at the Hotel Pousada Palos Verdes. From beginning to end, our stay was nothing short of fantastic. The staff are wonderful--extremely helpful, polite and accommodating. The proprietors of the pousada are lovely and speak Portuguese, Spanish and some English for out of country visitors. The pousada and the grounds was extremely well kept, neat, and clean. The small "hut" structure that you stay in was impeccably clean and there is even a small functional fireplace inside, fully stocked with fire starter, matches, and firewood for chilly nights. The beds are memory foam and are extremely cozy, and the house keeping every day was awesome--they even folded up some clothes that we had left on the ground and put them on the provided shelf. The absolute highlight of the stay was the cafe de manha every morning. It is the best 'continental' style included breakfast I've ever had at a hotel, with fresh cheese, meat, and hot pao de quiejo brought to your table when you sit down, and eggs cooked in the kitchen for you at your preference. There is also a large assortment of freshly baked breads, yogurts, pastries, fruit, freshly squeezed fruit juices, coffee and teas. My girlfriend and I stayed in Palos Verdes for one night. We chose the Suite Junior Duplex. The experience was great from the moment we walked in, to the moment we left. The stuff was very friendly and accommodating. We have absolutely no complaints. We asked for wine glasses and they brought them right up. The room was exactly as described, it was very clean and beautiful. The jacuzzi was amazing. There were not to many other guest due to the fact that we went in the middle of the week and during the off season. With that being said they even offered to bring us breakfast to our room instead of having to get ready and go to the dinning hall which was beautiful by the way. The food was delicious. The next day after our check out we went on a Jeep tour of Monte Verde, with one of the local tour guides, and the hotel staff even let us leave our car parked in their parking lot for 2 hours after we had already checked out.
