DON'T GO HERE!!!! My partner and I had the worst experience ever at this hotel about 2 weeks ago. No. 1: There is the most disgusting chemical smell and chlorine odor that hits you the second you step into the reception. It’s everywhere – in the rooms, hallways, reception, etc. I’m convinced it’s not healthy to breathe in. No. 2: The entire hotel is SO run down. In our room, the trash bin was completely rusty, the sink was completely rusty, the toilet seat was so worn with marks, there was mold and mildew on the walls, and even our bed linen was DIRTY. We called the reception twice to complain before anything happened, and eventually a man came with just one new sheet that we had to put on top of the dirty one ourselves? Not to mention the WIFI, which never works. I can see from other reviews that this is a recurring problem, and they keep giving the same poor excuses every time, but the fact is, it simply does not work in the rooms. The elevators are also constantly broken. The breakfast buffet was so nasty, completely overcrowded, and on top of that, we even got stomach problems afterwards. On top of that, the hotel promised that we could check out early and get a refund for the two nights we would not be staying. The reception manager promised we would get our money back, but then they scammed us and kept sending a bunch of emails saying they couldn’t do it, etc. I am completely baffled by the many good reviews, but I can also see that there are other skeptics who suspect the hotel of paying people or creating fake profiles to write positive reviews, because it makes absolutely no sense and is so misleading. All in all, the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life – and I’ve had over 300. And they’re supposed to be a...
Read moreWhat a great surprise was this hotel! I've read some good reviews online, saw some good pictures but I guess I wasn't ready for what I found at the day of my arrival. What a modern looking, comfortable, great and delightful place to stay! Shower gel and shampoo have their own dispenser IN THE SHOWER, yes, in the shower and I thought that was amazingly convenient, even tho I used my own because I have very sensitive/dry skin, so I usually use what I know works for me. Shower is like a waterfall, recharging! AC nice and potent, blackout curtains, 2 closets with drawers and a safe, which was amazing because I stayed for 10 days so I could unpack my luggages and it had a room for everything. Great room service, the meals always perfectly cooked and seasoned, as if I was having the experience of a fancy restaurant. Staff really friendly and always ready to help. I got there 5 hours before check in time and I was taken to my room right away, check in was fast, I booked my trip through the website hotels.com because they had more competitive prices, all nice and easy. Pool is stunning, they have a bar. Breakfast was great, lots of options for different tastes and diets, all juices were made out of fresh fruits. Nice variety of pastries. Amazing queen size bed! It had a bible in the nightstand table, which as a Christian I thought it was amazing! ^^ Very quiet/soundproof. Gym has everything you'd need. Very well located, in the heart of Copacabana and very close to the beach (which I prefer geting an Uber and take a ride for 5 min than walk for almost 10 min), lots of all sorts of stores all around. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I will definitely go back as soon as possible. I love Rio and...
Read moreIf I could give 0, I would. I stayed 1 week in this hotel last month with 2 friends and from the moment we stepped foot into this disaster of a hotel, it became painfully clear that hygiene, comfort, and competence are foreign concepts here. The room reeked of neglect—dirty towels tossed like afterthoughts, stained and smelling like they hadn’t seen a washing machine in weeks. We had to wait to 17h to have the room cleaned ??? What the heck ???
Privacy? Forget it. The walls are so poorly insulated I might as well have been bunking with the guests next door. Every cough, every clatter, every conversation bleeds through with zero regard for peace or sleep. We paid for a room, not a ticket to someone else’s life drama.
And as if the facilities weren’t bad enough, the staff make things worse. Indifferent, disorganized, and tragically undertrained, their idea of “service” seems to be shrugging and disappearing. Asking for help feels like disturbing their break time !!! and don’t even think about getting clear answers or a shred of professionalism !!!!
Do yourself a favor—book elsewhere unless you’re looking to ruin your trip. And what the...
