We were at this hotel at the end of December, 2019. Although it is 4-starred hotel, it looks like 2-starred hotel with old fashined furnitures and poor services. Staffs even at the reception do not speak English. We communicated via 'Google Translate' during 30 minutes when we were in check-in stage. Although we had had reservation via their own website, she did not find our reservation at their system. Unprofessional! We had money blockage during one month after checking out because of this unprofessionality.||||Our room smelled very bad because of old-fashioned and dirty carpet. Breakfast was OK, but not enough! ||||I wasn't actually going to write these things until that happened some events we experienced very badly. While drying my hair with old hair dryer, my hair got stuck in the hair dryer suddenly. It would take almost all my hair. (Because there was no protective cover on the hair dryer). I wanted a new hair dyrer from the housekeeper. In the morning at 6.45 a.m. (it was 31 december) while we were sleeping, the receptionist rang and spoke Portuguese although they were suppose to speak English. Of course, we did not understand what they said. Then housekeeper came to our room at 6.48 for take the new hair dyrer. The new hair dyrer was the 'only one' that were found at this 4 starred hotel. It was said that another customer needed it! It was very stupid! What were we? We were also customer! We were woken up at 6.45 a.m. because they have just one hair dyrer at the whole hotel. ||||We wanted to talk with the hotel manager but the receptionists tried to prevent us from speaking with the manager and they were reluctant. Anyways, when we managed to speak with the manager via telephone (not face to face), she said that "IT WAS A NORMAL THING that WE CAN BE WOKEN UP at 6.45 a.m.) They can ring us whenever they want. It was awakesome. After that we said we would write some comments to social medias like tripadvisor, she said OK, I will send you some complimentary. It was a fruit plate (and a letter for apology) that can be found at the breakfast. She is a hotel manager! ||||We do not recommend this hotel. We were in South America tour during 2 months. it was the worst hotel we've...
Read moreGreat location at a great price. Hotel is very clean. It also has the best blackout shades we have found in any hotel, the room will go completely dark and along with the comfortable bed and pillows it has allowed for great sleep. We like that balcony has doors that open fully for a bit of fresh air. The tv station that rotates to face couch or bed is a very nice add on. The staff has been great and very accommodating. We have been here for almost 10 days due to flight issues and have been happy. Wi-Fi has been fast enough to work. Staff also brought us an electric water kettle so we can make tea throughout the day. Only thing that could have been better is breakfast, it’s ok but could use a bit more variety or change more frequently. But not taking any points from it and there are places nearby for a change. Also, swimming pool is too small to really call a swimming pool. They should convert that to a hot tub and that would make it spectacular. Lastly, thought we would have some “outside” space with trees to work or read based on pictures of hotel, were very disappointed to learn the outside space is part of restaurant and not available to guests through the day. What a shame as it just sits empty most of the time. Will definitely stay here again as it is still a very good value...
Read moreThis hotel was a good value for the cost and is conveniently located near the Aveneida Paulista. However, there were a couple of significant disappointments.
First, to call their swimming pool a "swimming" pool is incredibly dishonest. At 2m wide and 4m long, you can't do ANY swimming. It should be called a sitting pool.
Second, a number of the facilities listed online are not available. We were excited, after 15 days of traveling to finally do some laundry, but when we asked, we were informed that their laundry facilities were closed. The advertised "cooked to order breakfast" was nothing more than a continental breakfast served to you by the staff. Their restaurant, bar (we don't drink so this wasn't an issue), and several other facilities were also unavailable. When we looked online those facilities WERE noted to be closed, but were also noted to be reopening 2 months prior to our arrival.
Overall, the staff was polite and professional, the room accommodations were pleasant, and for the price, we felt like it was a good value. Were the facilities available and the marketing more honest, I could easily give this a five...
