Only positive thing about this hotel is its location and the big beds. While checking out the employee starts calling and we just have to wait not knowing what he's doing. We ask him if we can store our luggage to what he responds "mini bar". After another few minutes of waiting he gives us the bill for the mini bar and a some kind of daily tax? After paying we ask him again if we could store our luggage somewhere, he starts writing something down and asks "credit or debit?" Apparently we have to pay to store. After I pay for I tell him it would be nicer to tell the people in front of you whatever you're doing instead of just charge them without them even knowing what is going on. To what he replies "Aaaah yes!" and just laughs a bit. For almost a week the same employee came to us during breakfast and started telling us something in Portuguese, every day we told him we didn't speak Portuguese and everytime he would just continue talking in Portuguese. They advertise you can enjoy a drink by the pool on the roof but there wasn't even a chair around. When we asked at the counter if we could get a sunbed (like on the pictures) or a chair to sit by the pool they told us it wasn't possible. After asking it again because they advertise with it, they called someone to bring two chairs. After waiting some more someone showed up with two of the most uncomfortable chairs ever, puts them next to the stairs, turns around and leaves. The pool isn't usable since they don't clean it and is...
Read moreThis hotel is pretty old and in urgent need of refurbishment. My friends and I were briefly stuck in the elevator twice during my three-night stay. The room was somewhat shabby, with terrible half-broken curtains, below-average beds and dirty bathroom tiles. Kind of hard to sleep with all those lights on your face! Also: the wi-fi was really slow. Not just "Netflix won't load" slow, but "even loading Google is difficult" slow.||||The three-bed room, though marked as such, is really a two-singles room with a temporary bed on the side. Its presence restricts walking space within the room, and sleeping on it is not great.||||This hotel doesn't accept deliveries. Any food has to be ordered from room service.||||On the plus side: the hotel's only a short three-block walk up to Paulista (note: uphill, if that's a concern), and breakfast is quite good! Options were more varied than I've seen in other hotels in this price range,...
Read moreLet’s go over about the good stuff about this hotel:|- location - safe, central, surrounded by good restaurants|- comfortable bed|- good water pressure in shower|- breakfast offered good variety of options||Not so impressive stuff:|- staff seems unprepared to deal with travelers from overseas. Arrived at 7:30 am, they could not find my reservation nor any records of my payment, even though it was done through a major travel website. Was told the “reservations person” would arrive at 8am. Had to prompt them to give me a room until they figured out their mix-up. |- sauna and gym areas are drab and need renovations ASAP|- rooms are spartan. My room only had 1 lamp on one nightstand. No lamps for other nightstand or desk. Furniture style is IKEA’s poor cousin. |- bathroom showed signs of moisture and fixtures need help. ||Good for a short stay if you’re unable to find a more...
