I was scheduled to be in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from 11/8–11/14 to support and work two events. The primary event was the F1 ORBR for me. I couldn't find a hotel to accommodate me from 11/10-11/14, as everyone was coming to Sao Paulo to attend the massive Grand Prix. I managed to find the Radisson Blu Sao Paulo with open dates. Before booking, I looked at their website to see the look of the property. It also scored 4.5 on travel websites. After viewing the property and its rating, I decided to book the hotel. Before going to the Radission, I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo from 11/8-11/10. I arrived on October 10 at the Radisson. It appeared from the outside to be a good property. Upon checking in, I noticed that the lobby was very small, with a small bar to the right and a restaurant within. I said, "Okay, they have a restaurant onsite with a bar."||||I booked an Executive King with a preference for carpet or wood floors. The room looked great on the web. According to the website, the bathroom was spacious. I finally checked in and was never asked a preference regarding carpet of wood flooring. I was shown the elevators, and off I went. The first red flag was that the elevators were old and only two passengers appeared to be able to ride inside. Not good for a hotel. I had to wait 5 minutes before I could use the elevator on my own. I arrived on my floor, and the layout did not look spacious. I arrived at my assigned room. When I walked into the room, the first thing I noticed was an unnameable stench. I walked in and quickly noticed the following:||||The carpet was stained all over.||Burn holes in the carpet||The furniture, including the phones, is outdated.||Because the AC unit was so old, it didn't always work properly.||The bathroom was so small that the toilet almost touched the walk-in shower, and the size looked like a cell that one sees on TV.||No IRD||The pool and spa were closed.||||I was so upset that I began looking to move to another property that night. Nothing! However, I did find the Renaissance available on 11/11-11/14. I booked it! I didn't touch a thing in the room and slept with my clothes on because, come 6:30 a.m., I was checking out. I went down around 8:30 a.m. and checked out.||||It's sad that I have to write such a review. However, I felt that I was foolishly swayed by pictures of what this property was all about and that it was an illusion, and that is what makes it sad. I took pictures of all the points I described. However, I will not post them. My...

Read moreThe staff’s attentiveness was outstanding. They are extremely well trained to anticipate guest’s needs. The concierge staff was always helpful and eager to assist. The breakfast staff are a well oiled machine and the breakfast options are great. Ask for a tapioca with cheese and guava paste, amazing. Room cleaning, gym and breakfast are scheduled to reduce likelihood of Covid transmissions. The hotel has hand sanitizer peppered ubiquitously where you want and need it: dining table, elevator, lobby, bathroom, room, gym, etc. Hotel is located in the heart of the financial district of São Paulo, a few blocks from Parque de Povo, a great park to go for a stroll or jog. On Saturdays there is a wonderful street fair a few blocks away at Chacara Itaim. Try the caldo de cana, a drink pressed from cane sugar, to which you can try with flavors (e.g., hortelão = a type if mint). You are also half an hour walking distance from Oscar Freire, São Paulo’s high end shopping street. You are also 10 minute walk from JK Iguatemi and Iguatemi shopping malls, great spots for high end shopping and dining. Unless I want to be located or get to know another area of the city, I will continue to stay...
