I was unfortunate enough to select this hotel for my month long stay in Varna.||While i agree its a budget hotel i expected beds you could sleep on rather than cheap foam mattresses which were the softest mattress i have ever slept on, a plug for the bathroom sink took 2 weeks to get, the bathroom mixer tap went from cold to scalding hence the need for a plug.||During torrential downpour i tried ordering food for delivery to the hotel, after failing i decided to ask the young receptionist but was meet with agression and downright cheek.||Breakfast was only just acceptable.||My company also booked a garage space due to the lack of fre parking round about, a few days before my departure i was advised this had not been paid by my company, on arriving at work i sent Belle Epoque an e mail asking for a copy of the garage invoice, no reply was received, on returning to the hotel in the evening i asked if they had received my e mail, another receptionist said yes but they had not replied as the parking invoice had been paid, the next day i was advised by the original receptionist it had not been paid, after a few more invoices and discussions the invoice was paid yet even after i left i received annoying e mails from the hotel regarding the garage bill which had been paid.||||The good points, wifi was free and acceptable, hotel has a basic but useful outside seated area, room TV gave good selection of English channels though i was somewhat astounded to find pure porn on 5 of the channels, more so given the Belle Epoque describes itself as a family hotel.||Would i recommend the Belle Epoque, no i could not, it falls down on the basics, guest comfort, receptionist training, good manners and a few other basics one...
Read moreHotel Belle Epoque is an ok hotel near the beach in Varna and short walk from the railway station. The hotel is not too expensive given that it is very near to the beach, but the hotel's concept is a bit confused. Because it is near beach you can hear the beach parties through the night, but hotel and their booking site is full of warnings that you are not allowed to eat or drink in the rooms, etc. etc., and so, as if it is more aimed to not the people who'd visit the beach and party. The service is quite rude altogether. we arrived half day late due to train delays, during breakfast hours so we tried to go have some breakfast after the ordeal only to have rude lady deny the breakfast for us because we didn't pre-book it (I thought it was included since it said so in booking.com) and then she proceeded to laugh at us while shooing us away. The pictures on booking sites do not resemble anything that this hotel has. I'd recommend looking at other hotels rather than this one even if they are few euros...
Read more4 of us (2 couples) were staying here for 3 nights. Absolutely enough for us. The hotel is clean, the rooms are big, breakfast is ok (filter coffee was not my taste but nespresso capsules solved my issue). Beach is across the road, perfect for beach style program. The city center is also walking distance which was perfect for us. Parking can be an issue but we were lucky with that too. Hotel has 4 slots for 7 rooms and not possible to reserve. Parking on the street can be an option, reception can help you with paying it via sms but you have to be a bit lucky (we were) to find a place nearby. We left Friday morning to visit the north, when we came back it was already out of business hours and weekend is free. Varna itself is about a few hours walk, some shopping and a day at the beach, that is why I’m saying: 3 nights absolutely enough. If you like laying on the beach for a week it would be good for that too. Ahh, the port is also very close with very good...
