We stopped in Siem Reap to go and visit Angkor Wat for the fourth time (never enough!) and chose to stay at this small hotel after reading other peole's reviews on TA . Rooms are quite big, each comes with a nice outside patio, big bathroom, nice shower, separate w.c., not many drawers and/or space for clothes, a safe, comfortable bed but air con blowing directly on your face when you lie down. Breakfast sufficient but not plentiful, just enough for europeans , may be not not for americans. There is a nice big terrace on the top floor where we could enjoy happy hours and/or dinner. Staff very kind and helpful, pity that none is fluent in english so you have to make sure that they understand what you say, and this is the main drawback we found not only in this hotel but almost everywhere else. There is a small swimming pool which we did not use. The whole place is well kept and very clean besides the fact that it is right in th centre of town, near the market and many places of interest. All in all La Riviere is a good compromise where you certainly get what you pay for and this is the reason why, in my opinion, they they...

I use almost exclusively Marriott but since there is not one in the area I choose La Rivière and I am genuinely glad that I did. The first day the staff knew my preferences and my name. Anything I asked for, they provided quickly, happily, and with a great big smile.
The setting is peaceful, the rooms are huge, and sitting in the porch in the early morning drinking coffee was really enjoyable. They have brooms going from early morning to night to constantly clean the , flower garden, front sidewalk, etc. Literally everybody greets you with a smile.
I stayed at the Hanoi JW Marriott immediately before staying here and, even though I had an executive suite at the JW, my room here was larger and the service an order of magnitude better than the JW. I look forward to coming back.
Finally, they are a for-charity hotel with all profits going to a local charity. That’s...
Read moreI recently stayed at this charming resort in Siem Reap, and it exceeded my expectations! The property seamlessly blends old colonial architecture with modern extensions. Its prime location near the old market, pub streets, and eateries (including halal and vegan options like Kebab & Falafel Time and The Little Red Fox Espresso Cafe) is a major plus.
The rooms are spacious, clean, with comfortable beds, strong air conditioning, and luxurious bathrooms. While the TV only accesses YouTube, you can bring your own movies on a thumb drive for a cozy night in.
The pool is lovely and very clean, and breakfast is simple yet satisfying with a selection of set menus and free-flow juices and coffee/tea. The staff are helpful, polite, and hardworking.
Given its reasonable prices, and above with excellent amenities, I'd highly recommend this resort to fellow travellers. I'll definitely be back for future trips...
