Would not stay in this hotel again. From booking until checkout, there were complications and unacceptable service and standards. I originally booked my hotel room online through Marriott for our stay. I understood that I had 24 hours before my arrival to cancel when I made the reservation. I tried to call to cancel the reservation as plans changed and we no longer needed the hotel room. I was on the phone for over an hour talking to two different Fairfield employees. The worst service I received was from Amit S who said he was a manager. He was rude, condescending and anything but helpful. I tried to explain my predicament to him and all he did was waste an hour of my time while he kept me on the phone and talked down to me. When I told him I was disappointed in his customer service and said I would bring my concern forward, he accused me of threatening him and continued to talk down to me. I am truly surprised that this individual has a position in customer service because after my interaction with him, I would never want to book at this hotel again.
As we were unable to cancel the reservation and our credit card had already been charged for the room, we decided to stay at the hotel. Upon checking, the room looked nice and but when I was in the bathroom I saw pubic hairs on the shower wall where the bottles of hair products hung. I was completely grossed out but let it go. When getting ready for bed at night, I went to wash my face with a wash cloth and when I opened it there were pubic hairs on the inside of the wash cloth. I almost put that on my face, I was disgusted! Normally I would have gone to the front desk to change rooms but it was late and I was too exhausted to change rooms. I took pictures on my phone to show the staff in the morning as this was unacceptable. I didn’t think things could get worse with our stay but they did when I caught my foot on a toenail that was embedded in our floor. I didn’t think I would run into anything more disgusting than the curly black hairs but this was a tie in my book.
I felt the breakfast was very nice and the service I received at the front desk when checking out was very nice but these two positives were far outweighed by the negatives I experienced. Your employee Amit started me off with an extremely bad impression of your hotel and the quality of cleanliness finished off my experience on...
Checked in late, after a long day of sitting at the hospital with a family member. All we wanted was a hot shower and good nights sleep. We got our daughter settled in her room, returned to our room and turned on the shower. And we waited. And waited. Finally after 15 minutes the reality of the situation sunk in and I called the front desk. I said this is "--" in room 209 and there is no hot water in our room. The response from the front desk was "There is no hot water in your room again?" "Again? We just checked in. What do you mean again?" Then we were informed that maintenance would be in to fix the issue in the morning and we would be ablento shower in the morning. Not what yiu want to hear afyer sitting in the hospital for 13 hours. I requested to be moved to rooms with hot water only to be told we could shower in another room then return to our room. Or moved to a room with 2 queen beds. Let me be clear. This hotel was not a capacity. There were PLENTY of parking spaces in the parking lot when we pulled in. So they either didn't have other rooms with hot water or were trying to inconvenience us further. That is when we dedided to check out and move to another hotel. The front desk clerk was gracious enough to inform us she wasn't going to charge us for our 45 minute, hot waterless stay. We drove 10 minutes to another Marriott, checked into our beautiful rooms and had one of the hottest showers on the planet. The facilities and rooms are nice enough at this location, nothing to write home about, but the lack of infestructure maintenence and the relaxed attitude of the staff regarding these issues is concerning. We will never book this hotel again while in Regina as the run around and inconvenience experienced was...
Read moreI like to start my review on a positive note so I'll mention that the rooms are clean and quite new. They are well appointed for travelers although I do miss the days when a glass was provided for water. I booked this specific hotel through my AMA website specifically because it had a hot tub and a good location: It was a convenient stop on our cross prairie road trip from Winnipeg back home to Calgary. Now for the negative. We arrived after 6 hours of driving to find the hot tub wasn't working. Not only that, there's no option to soak in a hot tub of water in our room. There's no tub. We were really looking forward to unwinding a bit before our 8 hour drive tomorrow. Additionally, we were not informed of a $50 non refundable pet policy because we booked through the AMA site. (BTW, we stayed at the Ramada downtown last weekend and there was no extra charge for pets). When they saw we had two small dogs they immediately changed our room to one one the first floor which would be convenient to take the dogs out BUT we are right beside the exit door... Which also means we hear everyone else take their dogs out. We have nervous rescue dogs who freak out everytime they hear dog tags jingling or the outside door slamming. AND they also spent the first 30 minutes smelling all the other pets that were in this room before them. I get it, I have a pet allergy and am getting wheezy already so I can understand why they might limit people to pet rooms but the $50 fee is insane. They certainly don't use it to get the pet smells out of the carpet! We were so tired and had already brought all our stuff in so we stayed but I wish we hadn't. I'd be in a hot tub right now. Extremely disappointed. Will stay at the Ramada next time...
