I was there to attend a meeting; entered the hotel and the front desk is right Infront of you as you enter the hotel, approached the front desk firstly no acknowledgement from the team, a gentleman did say Hi passing by onto the front desk team member, I said "Hi, good morning,( no greetings back a clear sign of either lack of training or simply a non welcoming attitude). Moving forward "May I please know where the so and so meeting room is, got a reply without any eye contact and in a rude manner go straight and onto your left. Being at the property for the first time one would struggle to see if going straight is from the outside or is from the inside. Anyhow, to clarify, I asked very politely is it from the outside or inside, front desk team member replied again in a very rude way, stressing on "THAT SIDE, THAT WAY" and to your left and I responded back "can you please be a little polite"? And show a bit of friendliness. One might be having a bad day at work or whatever the reason might be, in service industry, politeness is very important, especially when you are a front-facing team member. I would not have taken this much time out to write this detailed review, but I believe constructive feedback is always helpful and I hope it will be something to work on or look into. If a guest or a customer not staying at the hotel, asks in a very polite manner the way to navigate through the hotel, it shouldn't be responded in an impolite manner.
Meeting Room Experience: It was fantastic, the team was very helpful and approachable, cleanliness was top notch, coffee, snacks, food was fresh and delicious. The Banquet team did an exceptional job. 10 stars for their banqueting and meeting room team. Unfortunately, their front desk team definitely needs...
Read moreI was here on a business trip, so majority of the time was spend outside of the hotel. However, the hotel is clean both the main lobby and the rooms. The rooms are relatively modern and new, compared to some other hotels in the area that have dated rooms. The hotel is in proximity to flights, but so are other taller hotels in the area. White noise machine was present, unlike other hotels in the same proximity. The general area of the hotel is rather quite, as it's car dealerships, it can get more active during mid day when folks decide to rip sports cars down the road. But during my week stay there was only one such occurrence. The downstairs restaurant honestly is bad, the food was always greasy. There is McDonalds in extreme proximity so breakfast and coffee isn't an issue, you can also grab lunch / dinner from there and it would taste better then downstairs restaurant. The downstairs restaurant is realistically only good if you want to spend sometime at the bar and have few drinks, food I do not recommend. Outside of that the internet here is "okay", I may have had worse experience on the WiFi then others due to connecting to my own VPN back in Toronto. Other item, the TV in the rooms are nice and large but not overly iPhone friendly. If you have Android you can cast to the TV, if you have iPhone ... well no luck. I do kind of wish they supported both Android and iPhones, but you can cast from your Computer so if you need to enjoy Netflix, Crave, ect then use your Laptop to cast to the TV. Overall this place was nice, would definitely have stayed here again if I had to comeback to BC for business trip...
Read moreThe Hotel is well maintained and pleasant. My introduction to this hotel was not the best. After arriving at the Vancouver Airport I called the hotel to ask if they had an airport shuttle. This was confirmed and I was advised the shuttle would be picking me up from the terminal in about 10 mins which was the top of the hour.At 10 past the hour I called the hotel again to confirm I was waiting in the correct place as I had not seen the shuttle, I was confirmed as being correct and that the driver was running a little late. After a further 15 minute wait I called again to ask when I should be expecting the shuttle, at this point I was informed to catch a taxi and I would be reimbursed. I then joined a very long taxi line and finely got to the hotel. I paid the taxi driver and included a tip. Upon reaching the reception counter I was welcomed very courteously and asked if the taxi driver needed to be paid. I told the person that I had paid the taxi driver and gave them the receipt. It was only then that I found out I was reimbursed for the base fare not the tip. So I had lost an hour of my day and was now short of money for what should have been a courtesy shuttle. I asked the hotel to be more specific in future about how they would handle these types of transactions in the future as I was rather disturbed by my treatment.
The remainder of the stay was...
