To my East Coasters, a down home type of place. Very friendly people, they will have a conversation with you. Small business which I think is owned by 2 brothers. I have walked in many times and have seen them having great conversations with their regulars. When I walk in the one brother already knows what I want.
One time I saw them walk out and give the customer what they needed due to the customer being disabled. You don’t see that anymore, not in the big cities. It reminded me of the old country store that I grew up with, fond memories.
I support this locally owned business and walk out of my way to buy items here. I’d rather give them my money than a larger chain store. I know the money goes to them and thus they use their income to support the community. A chain store does not sufficiently do that.
Next to a local liquor store, restaurant, hair stylist and beauty supply store. Regular people own these businesses which in turn they spend their dollars locally. It is nice to be part of this community.
Next block are more restaurants and semi larger businesses. Lucky Feet massage are wonderful as well, limited English but we managed to understand and they eased my pain. Google translate helps but I didn’t need it.
Open 0900-2300, confirmed by me…..
2 Blocks from Travelodge Hotel, 2.5 blocks from Sandman Hotel. The walk is worth it to...
Read moreThere is not a better convenience store in Richmond than this place. The owner keeps a very good selection for such a small store and there is always parking available.
I was talking with the owner of the store about a woman that my wife was volunteering for. I told the owner that we were gathering groceries for her because she had just undergone an extremely serious surgical procedure to remove her feet. He filled a bag with meat, cheese, bread, mayo and various other things to help her out and contribute to all of the stuff we had gathered with other people. This was a great display or empathy and charity towards somebody he had never met.
I urge you to shop local and support this store.
P.S. He has plenty of...
Read moreI was in a rush looking for saran wrap because I was moving and ran out. Stopped off at the mailing place next door but they didn’t have any so I figured I’d try my luck at the grocery store/cafe. Not only did Michael have saran wrap but he also helped bandage me up! I had tripped while moving and scraped my knee pretty bad. He asked me to sanitize my hands while he got out a first aid kit and handed me Polysporin and a big bandaid. Such an amazingly kind and gentle human being! Michael, the world needs more people like you. Thank you so much for being so...
