I visited Al Basha at the Richmond Night Market and they totally blew me away with their amazing food. Hands down the best halal food in Richmond! I can’t say enough good things about Al Basha. The food is next level. Everything is freshly made with top-quality ingredients, and you can seriously taste the difference. It’s Mediterranean cuisine that takes your taste buds on a journey! You can really taste the quality and passion in every bite. All the food we tried were absolutely delicious, juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I tried the OG Shawarma! One bite and you’ll be hooked! This was a shawarma done right! It was the juiciest, and most flavourful shawarma in town! I had to eat this shawarma wrap slower just to savour every bite! 10/10 for me! It’s packed with juicy meat, bold spices and traditional flavours! The chicken is incredibly flavourful and pairs perfectly with the rich garlic sauce! Habibi style sliders stole the show! They were so satisfying, you’ll love them! Small bites but big flavour! The food here never misses because the fries were pure perfection and it’s the ultimate comfort food! Their food is second to none and their customer service is top-notch! The flavours were robust and the ingredients were fresh, making each item a true culinary masterpiece. What made it even better was the service. Zafer, who was working there, was incredibly friendly. Each bite transports you to the heart of Mediterranean cuisine! I was thoroughly impressed with the freshness of every ingredient in my food. Each component was bursting with flavor, yet when combined, they harmonized perfectly. This place delivers a truly satisfying experience. It will leave you craving for more! If you want the best shawarmas you’ve ever tasted then there’s only one spot for it and that’s Al Basha at the Richmond...

Shawarma is one of the things I like to try everywhere I go... I have tried it in so many countries around the world.

The beef shawarma (Arabi style) at Al Basha is one of the THE best beef shawarma I have ever tried. Tender, juicy, tasteful and the balance of ingredients and the sauce in the sandwich is just perfect. The sandwich bread is so good and the sandwich is slightly grilled that the bread is lightly toasted. All of that come with one elegant bite and get mixed in the mouth like a magic. It's not one of those big bombshell that we see in other shawarma places in town. Every bite is a magic experience that I want it not to end.

The chicken shawarma (Arabi style) is also another tasteful and beautiful creature of the Al Basha... similarly, it's is an elegant sandwich with perfect balance of limited, carefully chosen ingredients... most importantly the garlic sauce.

The falafel is definitely delicious... crispy and dark blonde from outside, soft and tasty from inside, freshly made and mixed with hummus and fresh veggies... makes it the perfect veggie sandwich in town. I also tried the falafel plate which comes with hummus and pickles... another option if you're not into pita bread.

The side fries is also very delicious... it comes with side garlic sauce and pickles.

The owner Imad is a great guy and very generous. He's utmost concern is that the customer enjoys his food and he's very friendly and care about his clients and their satisfaction.

Yousef is a great guy... extremely friendly with sense of humor guaranteed you don't leave without a laugh or smile before you enjoy the food.

It's guaranteed that I'll end up spending a lot of time and money in Al Basha... it's...

Was recommended this by a friend and omg, rare to find a place where I want to leave such a good review. Might even have to make a video on it. Albasha Shawarma (Richmond) is worth Obsessing Over.

Albasha Shawarma is one of the most satisfying food experiences I’ve had in a long time. I ordered the platter, it was sososo good. I genuinely wanted to order a second one just to relive it all over again but couldn't because they were closing.

I went for the platter, swapped out the rice for salad (they were out of rice at the moment and I didnt want fries because I'm trying to do a diet) and they accidentally added half fries. We politely let them know the mistake and they made up for it with extra salad. Every bit of their food was so intentional, that salad had lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, thinly sliced onions, all beautifully seasoned. It had a sort of vinegar on it too, it went so well with everything else, not your typical lazy shawarma platter salad. This one was intentional and designed to pair perfectly with the chicken, hummus, and garlic sauce.

Speaking of the chicken: moist, flavorful, and not crazy dry like most shawarma. Every bite was amazing and carried the flavour of the marinade all the way through. Their sauces were great, especially the garlic.

Everything on the plate was balanced. No ingredient overpowered another. It was clear that care and intention went into it.

My partner got the wrap and loved it. That's saying a lot, he’s from a city where shawarma joints are literally every other restaurant. He's tried so many of them.

This...

This is one of the top Shawarma restaurants in town, possibly even the best. The staff is incredibly friendly and willing to go the extra mile to ensure your satisfaction. The restaurant is designed with a unique and comfortable atmosphere, complete with great music that makes you feel like you're in a fairy tale. I thoroughly enjoyed the wrap I ordered, along with a side of fries and tabbouleh, though I have not yet tried all of their menu offerings. Overall, the Albasha plate is my preferred menu item. The restaurant located in this complex serves delicious and genuine cuisine with friendly and welcoming service. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here, despite initially planning to dine elsewhere. The restaurant's bright decor caught my eye, particularly the beautiful flooring. We ordered a plate and a wrap, and both dishes exceeded our expectations. The chicken skewers were surprisingly large and very moist, as depicted in the photo. The chicken and rice dish was also of high quality, considering the reasonable price. I was pleased that the wrap did not contain onions, as I am not fond of them. The garlic sauce was especially noteworthy, as it was generously portioned, unlike other competitors. Furthermore, the fries were so delicious that I regret not ordering more. Overall, the food had an authentic taste, with just the right amount of spices. I am delighted that I discovered this restaurant and highly recommend it to anyone seeking comfort food or craving shawarma. Thank you for the wonderful dining experience!

Best Shawerma in the lower mainland and possibly BC. A taste that truly resembles the authentic flavors of the classic middle eastern shawerma and not a Subway version. I went for the Arabic shawerma dish that comes with 2 salads, fries, and garlic sauce. I found this dish very delicious and would highly recommend it as a first try. I also tried their grilled Kebbeh and it was amazing and full of flavor. The grilled Kebbeh dish comes with a lentil soup which is good but could be better in my opinion. I found the soup slightly watered down but I know a lot of middle eastern’s enjoy it that way. I prefer it a bit thicker but that’s just my personal preference. I dined in on a Saturday night and found the restaurant slightly congested and the tables very close to one another. The decor was very pleasant and welcoming however. The staff was okay and not as friendly as all the other comments describe them. I came in two hours before closing and they probably were just exhausted from a very long day. Nevertheless, I will definitely be back and will let my friends know about this place.
