The manager at this location, Anna, is the antithesis of professionalism and needs to be reprimanded immediately for her conduct. I had purchased a pair of dress shoes in a hurry and so did not inspect them, only to realize afterwards that the left shoe was new but the right one saw some serious mileage evident from substantial creasing. I purchased these shoes on the 1st of march and went to the store for a refund within a couple days because the damage on the right shoe clearly required significant use to cause and so I though the quicker I came in the stronger my case was that I was not the cause of this damage, especially since it was only on the right shoe. The manager, Anna, rejected a refund for the shoes and so I went above her to head office and received approval for a refund and was provided with a number I was to give to Anna for her to find the corporate email that was sent to the store informing her that I was approved for a refund. After going back to the store I spoke to Anna and asked her for the refund and provided her with the number to which she said “Can I tell you something, I am not going to give you a refund because you are telling me what to do”..... Not only was she rude and speaking with serious attitude, but she was now saying that she is going to ignore directions given to her from head office to provide me a refund for used dress shoes because I was apparently "telling her what to do". I realized at that point I was dealing with a grown self-righteous egotistical child that saw this refund as a personal battle. She kept refusing to search up the number provided by me from head office, probably because she would then have to do what I told her to, which is to listen to your head office and give me my refund. After a good long while of arguing with her she finally said “oh yea, so if I take this number and search it in my email, I will find approval for refund???” as if I was lying about the email, so I said yes and off she went to the back to do her job. She came back calmer and less aggressive saying “Listen, ill give you this refund now but I wont do it again” as she realized that I was not lying about head office approval of the refund and probably understood how poorly she conducted herself in the interaction. I then told her that she will only have to deal with my refund this one time because never again will I come back to this store and nor will I or my family ever shop at ALDO again following this interaction. She then processed the refund but not without more bickering and eye rolling throughout the process. ALDO is a good company that sells great shoes, but if anyone from head office is reading this please spare me your automated reply and instead reprimand the manager of your Vaughan Mills location, Anna, who is the antithesis of a customer service agent and a retail worker, and whom is the paragon of a self-righteous egotistical power freak who conducts her role in a personal as opposed to a professional manner. A simple searching of the email and processing of the refund on Anna’s part would have kept me and my family as customers for life but this manager has lost ALDO not only my and my family’s business but also others who deal with Anna's wrath and immature character. I will also like to mention that the other associates at the Vaughan Mills location were nice and respectful and with whom I had nothing but good interactions with, which I believe they would say themselves. How Anna found her way to be a manager here, I am not sure, but what I am sure about is that she does not exemplify the ideal manager, rather she is the opposite of it and this was immediately evident the moment she refused to follow head office's request to give me a refund, refused to even search her email with the number I provided, so that she can satiate her appetite for power and superiority over others. In addition, one of the associates apologized to me for their managers reaction and conduct, probably because they...
Read moreToday I visited this store to return the shoe I bought exactly 10 days ago since I found a better one for my upcoming graduation ceremony on October 27. The shoe has not been worn, and it is in its original packaging.
That day when I bought them, my size was not available, so I had to take the display pair. Shirin, the sales person, literally told me, don’t worry, you have 2 months to return if you find something better. I asked her is it needed to note on the receipt/box that this is a display shoe, and she said no it is fine and gave the shoe to the front for checkout. Well guess what, I found something better at Toronto Premium Outlet from a different brand, and now they act like I’m lying and accuse me of wearing them. Total joke.
Once I went there, the person behind the cash, named Ali, said I cannot return because the shoe has been worn. I told him I did not wear it, but he kept insisting because of the back of the shoe (attached photo). I went and grabbed other pairs of shoe off their shelves and showed him they were all in the same condition, and he still refused (attached photo). He then made up nonsense that those were on sale and mine was new collection. Then I showed him shoes not on sale but in same condition (forgot to take photo of them, but for sure I will go back to the store to take more photos). I told him if the shoes underneath can be in this condition once customers try them on in this store, it does not matter if it is new collection or on sale, you cannot accuse me of returning something that has been worn. Display shoes remain display shoes, regardless of whether they’re on sale or in the new collection.
When I asked for a manager, Ali claimed he was the manager. The only thing he gave me was a customer service number, because clearly he didn’t want to do his job. I told him that I’m really frustrated because you’re giving me the customer service number. If you think I don’t have the right to return this, then why are you giving me the number? Then, he turned to his coworker (I think her name was Sanaz) and she rudely said, even if customer service accepts it, I won’t issue it. Who do these people think they are?!
This place is full of scammers. I don’t even think they told me their real names. They trick customers into buying display shoes and then refuse returns just to protect their commission or whatever benefit they’re getting. Disgusting service. Do not ever shop at this Aldo, not recommended at all. I will be calling customer service tomorrow, and trust me, this is not over. Resolving this issue is their responsibility, and besides customer service, I will definitely take this to Aldo’s head office and the Consumer Protection Branch, since these staff has engaged in...
Read moreI have never experienced such poor customer service and rude store clerks. What should have been a simple return and exchange turned into a three hour long ordeal with me having to drive back and forth across the GTA between the outlet mall and the Aldo store at Sherway Gardens. The store manager at Sherway Gardens called the Aldo Outlet store at Vaughn Mills to try and locate the model name & number for a shoe I was trying to return due to a manufacturing error since I'd only just purchased these shoes 9 DAYS AGO and there were already tears in the fabric. They claimed they couldn't locate the shoe and so I was told by the store manager at Sherway Gardens to drive to Vaughn Mills and return the shoes there and that I would experience no problems with this. I then drove all the way out there only to be faced with incredibly rude employees that claimed no one had ever called them and that they would not accept my shoes. I asked to speak to the store manager because I had been assured by the other location that my exchange would be honored. The clerk refused and took photos of the shoes claiming that I had damaged them myself. I then requested to at least take a photo of the shoe model name and returned back to Sherway. They finally were able to put through the exchange but the fact that it required me to spend three hours of my day and drives miles and miles back and forth across the city rather than a simple phone conversation between the two stores is baffling and incredibly infuriating to me. Up until this point I have never had a negative experience with Aldo but this has completely changed my perception of the entire company as a whole and I will no longer choose to give you my business if as a supposedly valued customer I am...
