DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse — Local services in Vaughan

Never have I ever experienced such incompetent individuals in my entire life. The DSW store in Vaughan Mills has the most appalling staff I have ever met. They lack a level of professionalism that is inexcusable for mature women. I have seen more professional behaviour from teens working a part-time job at fast food restaurants than the ADULTS working here. To start, I originally called the store to ask them if they could put a pair of shoes aside so that I can pick them up after work. The lady that picked up the phone stated she had other customers and was by herself so she couldn't help me. I understood (despite her rude response) so I told her she could put me on hold (I used to work retail so I get it). Instead, she repeated the same thing and then hung up on me! UNACCEPTABLE. So I went on my lunch break to pick the shoes up myself because calling clearly was not going to help anyone. I went into the store and tried to get the attention of one staff member who I smiled and gently gestured my hand up to indicate that I needed her help. She makes eye contact with me then proceeds to continue her conversation with her work friend pretending that she did not see me. The woman she was talking to acknowledged me and brought me to the section where the shoes would be (after I already checked and told her that they weren't there) only to be ditched and told to "check clearance". I then went to a THIRD person in the store to research the shoes on the computer (they had one 10.5 left), and just when I thought she was actually going to be better than the last 3 people, she points and tells me to go through clearance. She specifically stated "there's only one pair left so you really have to dig through it".

I always purchased my shoes from DSW and was a loyal customer UNTIL today. Though a single customer isn't that important in the big scheme of a company like DSW (as clearly shown by the DSW Vaughan Mills staff), I truly hope my post brings awareness to the company and to other potential customers as my experience was incredibly disappointing, dehumanizing, and overall terrible to say the least. I would tell people to think twice before coming to this location. The fact that DSW would hire individuals of mature age who lack this much professionalism is shocking.

Worst customer service EVER!!!! I went to the Vaughan Mills location. I went there with a sku# to pick up a pair of dress shoes that another location didn't have in my size. The girl behind the counter looked at the sku# and phone number and told me the following: "you are in the wrong store, that is the Shoe Company". Than she couldn't remember the store phone number, I had to tell her that the phone number on the paper is DSW and that it was THAT location, she than remembered that it was and blamed it on being Monday.

I tried to sesrch for the shoes in the store but couldn't find them. I went back to that same girl and she told me the following: "It's somewhere over there towards the back, look for them". I went back to the isle, my husband was helping me locate the shoes, I finally found them and went to the counter to pay. There are now 2 girls at the cash with 2 clients. It took them over 15 minutes to help those clients and STILL they were not done with them, the same girl that told me to go search for the shoes had to tell the client she was serving, to wait while she cashed me out. DSW in VAUGHAN MILLS is the WORST!!!! I WONT BE GOING BACK! Oh and by the way the other location that gave me the sku# had attempted to call the Vaughan Mills location to hold the shoes for me and they never picked up, apparently it's a thing with DSW Vaughan Mills location (they never pick up). I also tried to call them prior to going there and again no answer. While I was waiting in line to pay for my shoes, the phone kept ringing and of course they were not picking up. They...

0/10 Terrible customer service! Me and my boyfriend visited this location on Thursday May 29,2025 around closing time. My boyfriend picked up a pair of shoes that were on a display on sale for $55.97 when we got to the front it rang up full price of 79.99. We told the cashier that this price is wrong, as it was marked lower on the display. He sent someone to check the price… mind you he couldn’t find where the shoes were so I told my boyfriend to show him where they were. My boyfriend took a picture of the price tag as we wanted to show the cashier. He showed the cashier and he said no this is the wrong sign. We read the sign it was exactly what we picked up.

Then this white lady with long blonde hair shows up and she was so incredibly rude. Firstly she is hyperventilating that it’s closing time and we’re still cashing out. She was so frantic! She comes to the cash register and starts asking what’s the problem, we explain that the shoes rang up incorrectly. She opens the shoe box and as she is opening it she hits my boyfriend hand. He was just trying to show her the picture. She didn’t once say sorry. She then frantically and loudly starts huffing and puffing trying to change the price and honour it.

We definitely appreciate that she did that. But it was not our fault that the shoes rang up incorrectly.

Until we didn’t leave the store she kept huffing and puffing acting like we were a burden. We were not waisting time, we made a purchase.

I will definitely not be back at this location!! 0/10 experience.
