We decided to go to this hotel of 4 stars once had a good feedback of family members who are already there had been in previous years. Once they were our 1 vacation, at the end of 3 years, without children, only wanted to rest and relax. As soon as we arrived at the hotel at around 1 in the morning, we were informed that there were bungalows available (the room that we booked) and that we were getting a superior room in the building. This room told how "superior", was a banal, with the bath painted white and with ink to jump, port of entry departure and still with bits of soap from previous guests. When i require the room we had paid - although it is supposed to be of inferior quality - there told me, with an arrogance - which came to confirm the almost all employees of 24 (taking a lady very friendly and willing to help) - that the next day we could go to the bungalow. In relation to the bungalow, is friendly, simple and with a small balcony which allows you to be at the end of the day sitting reading a book. Nothing great luxuries, but is ideal for a beach hotel. Just to emphasize that I had to kill 3 cockroaches (at different times)…but maybe i am demanding more… in relation to food, is a large negative point. There is little quantity/quality, there was not a single lunch/dinner (and sometimes breakfast) who had to ask employees for silverware, napkins or cups, because there is too few staff to do the replacement/cleaning of tables. In relation to the replacement of food, is systematic, even when we are trying to serve and take us to the trays from the front. At the end of the week, we were already sick of the food that the hotel offered. Prepare yourself for who takes children because the Kids menu only varies between pizza, sausages and sandwiches are mixed. There is much more in this section. When we arrived, we are given 2 vouchers for dinner in the Italian restaurant (is the same of snacks in the middle of the morning and afternoon and not expect that will eat something different) and another of Wine Tasting (at the beach bar, because the main restaurant was in the works) - which I would advise the scoring as soon as the 19h, because it is even just tasting, and still have time to go to the buffet to kill the hunger. The tasting menu doesn't have anything different that there (on different days) at the buffet menu. On the animation, very rarely saw them during the day and all (yes all) the nights are sessions of dance. From African dances, World dances, Latin dances,… in relation to these sessions give note 10 to the dancers, because I see that they work very hard and enjoy what they are doing. The only issue that i point is that they don't inform the names of dances (or the countries where they originated) before the beginning of each one. But as I said earlier, taking these 50 minutes at night, rarely see the animation during the day. Once the airplane to return was only at 23H, it is possible to take advantage of the hotel's services until the time of departure, and despite the check-out be at 12h, provide a courtesy room so that we can take a bath (as were 2 people had a right to 30 minutes). In short, this hotel is far from 4 stars that they have, and being a person who already had several offices in it (even in Cape Verde), this was clearly the worst and created a new minimum… If I'm going back to Sal: Yes! If i'm going back to this hotel: No! If I advise people to go to this hotel: I will show them this review and then decide for yourself! Unfortunately, it wasn't the vacation that we wanted, and I should like to thank the hotel management, which in the last case, is responsible for all these...

Oásis Atlantico Belorizonte was a painstakingly average experience, that most definitely doesn’t deserve 4 stars, 3 stars at best.

Let’s start with the rooms, which, warning, the hotel can butcher your reservation. When you reserved the deluxe bungalow, you can expect an average room in the main building. Rooms are… well, average. The bed looks OK, the tables as well, but the bathroom is more interesting though. You can see in the bathtub that the silicone rims are already worn out, but that’s the most I’ve got. Dull. Old. Not modern. However, expect unwanted visitors such as bugs, cockroaches, and most importantly - ants, which were so annoying that they even showed up on the bed.

Moving on to food and amenities - there are two pools, which are “OK”. The restaurants are way more interesting though. There are four restaurants and three bars: a normal buffet, an Italian buffet, a regular “à la carte” and a fish one. “ “À la carte” is in brackets since you get a predetermined set of dishes and in no way can choose what you want to eat. Buffet food is average at best, with a personal exception of seafood, that’s actually pretty good. “À la carte” restaurants are also quite decent in terms of food. A little heads up about the bars though - they do not serve original Coca-Cola, but a substitute. Do with that as you wish. For all I know, they do serve drinks in actual glasses, so that’s fine.

Staff is when it gets tricky if you’re an English speaker. They do speak English, but barely (there are exceptions in both ways). If you want a bottle of water from the bar, it’s free; however, be ready to oversimplify your questions to the point of talking to a toddler. The same goes for the cleaning staff.

Location is pretty good. The city is pretty close, so is the beach, but I recommend that if you want to buy some Coke, then go to the main street in the city, and not the shop near the beach exit, as the prices there can be eye-watering.

And that pretty much sums up my experience at this establishment. Pretty average for the most part. I can’t recommend any nearby hotels since I wasn’t a guest anywhere else; however, I do hear that a hotel just on the left (same owners) is a bit better, but it also costs more as it has the rating of five stars.

Overall, I’m not looking forward to coming back, but I probably would survive if I had to.

P.S. Cats can be frequently spotted walking around the resort. For me it’s a plus, but it depends...

We spent a week in this hotel and had a nice time.

HOTEL: The hotel grounds are huge, so be prepared to walk a lot. We had a bungalow in a quiet area just next to the fence and there was no noise but there are a lot of bungalows near the pools/busier areas which will for sure have a lot of noise pretty much all day. There is only one way to the beach and also one way to the street (through reception). The staff is friendly, nice and helpful (we had no problem with them at all). Also be prepared to see a lot of cats on the hotel grounds and a lot of dogs on the beach. There are also 3 souvenirs shops on the hotel premises.

BUNGALOWS: The rooms are really outdated and really need to be modernized. The mattress is so hard that you can feel every spring in it. The closet/area for children is really nasty. The matrress looked terrible and there is no AC in that little rooom (just a small window). The cleaning was done daily and towels were changed if you put them on the floor.

FOOD: Unfortunately, the food was not really good. There are 3 special nights for dinner in the main restaurant (grilled, latin, cape verdean) and also you can reserve 3 dinners in different restaurants (it was included in our all inclusive package holiday). There are 3 restaurants for special nights (Italian, Tasting Menu and Fish - which is located on the beach). The food was mostly bland, meat was tough, etc.

ACTIVITIES: There are lots of activities to choose from (at the hotel or on the beach). Beach - aerobics, football, volleyball, etc. Hotel - water polo, dance classes They also do a performance of some kind each evening (quizzes night, live music, mama africa dance performance, etc.). I would say this hotel is not really suitable for families with children. Not much to do with children. No water park, just a small playground and a tiny pool for smaller children but they do have a kids club.

BEACH: The sun-beds are included in the price but lots of them are damaged. The beach was really nice, the water is really clear but the ocean is really strong, so just keep that in mind. It is not suitable for small children. There are also men trying to sell you things (souvenirs/tours, etc.). Lots of dogs running around but they didn’t seem dangerous...

It’s not a small hotel, has all inclusive and half board options. We were lucky to get the bungalow further from main paths, in a silent area without bars and pools too close. Bungalows are really lovely, have all amenities, yet bathroom is really outdated, needs renewal both for sinks, toilets and shower curtains. In the room we had a flat TV (never turned it on), fridge, air conditioner, wardrobe (it may even have two bunk beds), nice tiny terrace. Another annoying thing was the light above the sink: there were no doors, and if you went to the toilet at night, both lights were on, directly onto someone’s sleeping face (see the pics). However the hotel is really clean, rooms are also cleaned daily, towels - both beach and room - are not worn. There are three pools, unfortunately people book the sunbeds at 7 am 🤦‍♀️two more for the little babies, beach is superb and clean, four bars, four restaurants, anyone can find what they are looking for. We enjoyed the food, especially those who love sweets and deserts, at some days - fresh fruit. We also loved whole grilled fishes, mussels, varieties of sides (couscous, beans, broccoli), and the greatest discovery was the goose barnacles - this expensive sea food treasure. Most people did not know it, except us 🤣 it was super delicious! Italian dinner was also great. However trigger warning for the drinks: get coffee at the bars, wine from tap and “bottles” is awful, beer and gin tonic is much better :) It is definitely a not 4 star hotel, as it needs more updates (dishes are also outworn - plates, cups, forks, knives), but we loved staying here - all ammenities are close: shops, bars, harbour, restaurants, walking around was a great part of the stay. So I definitely recommend going!
