Funaná Museu Vivo — Restaurant in Sal

If you would like to eat well, go away! For a nice Caipirinha, you can stay, it is good.

You will feel like in 90. skanzen of touristic. Museo VIVO? Museum of old school restaurant.

The only positive think I can write about this restaurant is the Capirinha.

Everythink else is bad. 2pm, we would like to order a lunch. The old school menu list. We wanted tuna fish, there were 3 dishes with tuna. They don't have. On Kapverds? Strenge! they did not even have an Octopus and Grouper fish the waiters could come with the menu and tell this on beginning, but ok. We are not in Europe for the water we had to come to the bar, otherwise we will wait another 10 minutes the bathroom is closed, you have to pick up a key at the bar. But there are many people, so, very few minutes, somebody wanted the keys But the bathroom was clean!, it was ok but the restaurant need to maintanance and to clean the food was terrible. Chicken was not well cooked. Vegetable service with corn from the can? On the picktures it lookes nice, but it was absolutelly not tasty.

The restaurant unknowingly focuses on clients from tourist offices. Whose come to buy a music avening buffet for 30 EUR, where the quality of food doesn't matter

My advice is go here at lunch time only! We went for lunch and the food was great. We saw all the instruments set up for weekend entertainment and asked when the live music was on, they replied with Friday. So we have just arrived back from the Friday evening at funana resteraunt and what a disappointment it was. It's €20 for just food or €30 with selected drinks. We just selected the food, which was okay but probably the worst meal I've had in Santa Maria.

The evening entertainment was three men two on guitar and one singing, when they have a full orchestra set up with drums and brass instruments etc. I expected the entertainment to be much better than it was, a real disappointment. It cost us €48 in total, I will not return on a Friday evening, but...

Wir waren Anfang November 19 dort und hatten im Hotel nur Frühstück gebucht, weil es in Santa Maria sehr gute Restaurant gibt. Besonders die "Einheimischen" waren durchweg sehr gut und zum Teil sehr günstig. Abendessen für 3 EUR, reichlich, gut und sehr nettes und freundliches Personal! Nur das Funana nicht, die vor dem Restaurant wartenden "Einweiser" wiesen auf die aussergewöhnliche Küche hin, wir sind dann mal reingegangen und wollten aber wieder gehen, da ich kein Buffet mag. Der deutsche Chef persönlich hat uns zugesichert, dass das Buffet das beste auf den Kapverden ist, ebenso wie die Abendveranstaltung. Geschmäcker sind verschieden aber bis auf den einheimischen Eintopf, war gut aber nur sehr wenig, war der "Rest" nicht gut und das ist noch höflich. Wie man frisch gegrilltes Fleich unter Ungebungstemparatur bringt, das Geheimnis kenne ich nicht, die gegrillten Hühnerbeine waren offenbar sehr lange gegrillt und die Marinade kaum mehr wahrnehmbar, dafür lauwarm (warmes Essen wird ja häufig überschätzt). Das sensationelle Buffet bestand aus 3 Gerichten (u.a. der Eintopf) welche gereicht wurden, dann gab es noch eine Theke mit verschiedenen Salaten, Nudeln, Nudelsoße, vermutlich Hackfleisch mit Tomate usw. max. 10 verschiedene Sachen und noch die 2 "frisch gegrillten" Fleischteile. Der Tischwein war unterirdisch und der "weltbeste Caipi wurde mit deutschem Steinhäger, kannte ich gar nicht, zubereitet, brrr. Wir haben nach ca. 30 Minuten die Rechnung bestellt und durften dann pro Person 30,00 EUR, inkl. Getränke pausch., bezahlen. Die 3 Unterhalter waren teilnahmslos und der Hautunterhalter hat sich bereits vor Liedende für den tollen Beifall bedankt, wo er Ihn gehört hat kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Wir gehen sehr gerne und gut Essen, probieren auch gerne aus und, speziell im Urlaub schauen wir nicht auf das Geld und die "Erfahrung" war uns auch die 60,00 EUR "wert", nur werden wir das Lokal nicht mehr aufsuchen und nach unserem Besuch war auch nicht mehr geöffnet, obwohl laut Aushang geöffnet sein hätte sollen, ich wollte dem deutschen Chef schon erklären was ich von seinem hervoragenden Geschmack halte. Nur zu diesem Zweck werde ich das Lokal aufsuchen, fall ich noch einmal nach Santa...
