I see that many other reviews praise the service but my experience was completely the opposite. Our waiter was not knowledgeable or accommodating at all!!! I cannot eat gluten due to celiac disease and asked which salads were gluten free. He just replied that "every" salad has gluten. Surely you can just not put the croutons or adjust it. No! Every salad contains gluten and cannot be adapted. The only gluten free meal on the menu (according to this guy) was the grilled catch of the day. Surely, most of the other grilled food is gluten free. No! The catch of the day! I didn't want a big meal for lunch and asked for the omelette and he started listing all the ingredients in a tomato and cheese omelette. To conclude that yes it is gluten free. Then I asked for a lemonade and he insisted I should have a sprite because "it's the same thing". Actually no, but this guy was clearly an incompetent. When the food arrived, my cheese and tomato omelette had no cheese at all!! Quite frankly, just the location is not good enough! There are other places on the beach with better service and food. So, if you have the misfortune of having celiac disease, stay away...

Had food poisoning up till now, only just feeling better and can enjoy the last couple of days of my holiday. So unfortunate that these things are happening at a very lively and popular restaurant on sea front. I would not recommend any tourists/visitors eating at this restaurant. I had to visit a pharmacist to get medication prescribed and it’s not cheap. The service is not the greatest either for the price paid for 2 people, the bill totalled £60 GBP. Two meals and 3 drinks in total. Not to mention the amount of flies hovering around your food when eating, which made the food less enjoyable. At some point towards the end of my meal, a lovely lady suggested they get some in-sense which did help. BUT a little to late I would say. Choose at...

Price is not cheap, expensive by standards here. But food was fantastic!
Tried sweet pepper with anchovies puree- loved the combination of the two! Brazilian style kabobs were real nice, but grilled mixed seafood melted in your mouth and pineapple carpaccio for dessert was drizzled in honey and citrus concoction... yummy.
Try their local wine- Chá vinho de Fogo, especially the white. Very limited supply as vineyard was destroyed by...
