Quads (2hrs excursion) : Good organization and communication, especially with the people at the reception. Though the excursion was boring... One of the quad was driven by a beginner who was a bit scared and therefore the excursion was really really slow for everyone, not the feelings you looking for when you do this type of activity. At some point we were driving between 15km/h and 20km/h so I made some small changing directions (zigzag) with the quad to have a bit of fun. Directly the guide stopped the excursion, came to my side and told me that the drifts were prohibited, which he indeed said before the excursion. He said the excursion was slow because of the driver and that it was not a problem according to him. Well, to me it was a problem and I think that I am the client so I am the one that should be pleased. I was definitely not. I was a biy shocked because how could I drift at 15 km/h with small turns ? I don't even know how to drift and I am definitely not a crazy driver. I was just looking for some sensations. And i have a really small experience in quads so If you have some experience this will not be your best option. However, if it's your first time driving a quad this might be a good training session.
Also, they ask you to pay 3euros per bandanas if we don't have one. But they didn't even told us to bring one. Good technique to add a few euros to the 90 we...
Read moreThis was a highly enjoyable trip. We had a 1000cc buggy, which was unfortunately limited to around 6000 revs and we were hampered by being behind some slower drivers who wouldn't or couldn't keep up with the lead buggy, which meant that we had to keep dropping back to get any kind of run or speed. As we had a guide at the front and a guide at the rear of the column, it would have been a better idea to let the faster drivers go to the front. In fact it would be a great idea to put people into groups by ability or experience to get the most from the experience. The buggys are also now a little tired with the brakes on our one being virtually non existent unless pushed really hard and the suspension not supporting to its optimum on hard dips and corners. This is me being highly critical as I still enjoyed the 4 hour trip and the sights we saw on the way (mirage, salt lakes, paddling with lemon sharks, shanty town etc). One piece of advice is to take a towel, beach shoes and a face covering, otherwise you will need to buy/hire these over the course of the trip. Also make sure you have some change with you if the ladies need a toilet break as this is currently charged at 50 cents, no change given..... Overall, pretty enjoyable trip, guides knowledgeable and...
Read moreOverall and looking back I did enjoy the experience but I thought it was dangerous and little in the way of safety briefing. The safety brief consisted of us all gathering around our guide on his quad bike while he quickly showed us how it works. There was no practice or time to get used to the bike. Every other quad bike experience I’ve been on has always had a ten minute or so practice around a small course so the guide can make sure everyone is comfortable with their bike. None of that in this case. We sped off at a very high speed and that continued throughout the whole tour. I felt like I was in a race not a guided tour. Was dangerous in many places where the terrain was difficult and the sand was being kicked up and you could hardly see where you were going at time but yet still we had to keep up with the guid at his very fast pace. Towards the end of the tour, one of the group got left behind because he had a flat tyre. The guide wasn’t even aware of this. It took one of the other group members who kept beeping his horn and trying to catch up with the guide to bring it to his attention. He wasn’t checking that the group was all ok. Dangerous and lucky to have returned in one piece. Definitely needs a...
