Matariki Sunset Apart Hotel — Hotel in Easter Island

Matariki Sunset Apart Hotel. Our room was in the two-story back building, #9. It was a surprise that the bathroom is on the first floor and that the stairs are narrow. There are no air conditioners nor tvs in the hotel. It has all the necessities for cooking and no condiments or paper towels. They do provide a two gallon complementary water bottle. There is no daily housekeeping, our bed sheets were changed because we asked. They provide beach towels and a clothes hanging rack. There are restaurants nearby. There is wifi in the public areas but it worked well in our apartment (#9). The grounds are pretty, full of flowers. There is parking for about 6 cars. The employees were friendly and speak English but they are only here in the morning until 1pm. They communicate with the guests with WhatsApp. I recommend you get it. There is an electric fan. We were here one week and electricity failed twice for about 5 hours. You can hear adjoining rooms and roosters. The location is great. There is a cafe within the grounds- good breakfast and pastries (La Boulangerie). They pick you up (leis included) at the airport and drop you off. The views from the second story is great, it compensates having the bathroom in the first floor. The hotel can arrange for excursions (with Aku Aku Tours) and we found them to be good, and the guides knowledgeable. Our apartment sleeps 7 including two sofas (room for 3 with a queen bed and one more. A room with 2 beds, and 2 sofas in the first floor). We did go to a nearby supermarket (Henua Market), a 6-minute walk. We rented a car only one day for 50,000 CLP from Haunani Rental Car and it was good (stick shift cars are common). DO...
