I have to say that our stay here had a very pleasant start before our arrival. The owner couple helped us settle our trouble of missing flights and free rescheduling of reservation dates. They also helped us book all tours and a dance show. I could not thank them enough for saving us a lot of time and efforts. |When we arrived, we were very pleased by the prime location of their property and the way they received us. A very good first impression, indeed. |Because I have connected with them on WhatsApp, they committed that I could seek their help there for anything we need. The owners also showed their hospitality by driving us to the tour, walking us to the show. It was quite pleasant and we thought it would end up with a very memorable experience with them. |Then things got weird from the second day. We found our room was not cleaned. I asked them on WhatsApp and it was the first time I knew they don’t have daily cleaning services. We were never informed about this, either on OTA platform for reservation, or later on WhatsApp. Then I got to know that they actually rented another hotel’s room to accommodate us. I accepted the owner’s apology and didn’t get hard on her. But I did pointed that information delivery could be better to avoid unpleasant surprises. |Then on the second night we were awakened by loud music at 5am in the morning. It was the second consecutive night of non-stop party noises. We could not sleep at all after that, and we even walked out to find the source of the noises and tried to argue with those drunken local hooligans. |We were angry and exhausted and wished to have the owners’ help. I sent her the videos of the noises and how we argued with those hooligans, hoping to talk to them for a solution. From WhatsApp I could see that they read my messages in the morning, but no reply for a whole day. Then very late on that evening, she replied us that they have no extra rooms and if we want to move to other hotels we could do that after settling all fees without charging us for the third night. We were very disappointed about the way we were responded. However because it had been very late, we chose to stop continuing this topic and risk another sleepless night staying there. | Some last notes, the service in their restaurant “the Polynesian” also needs to be improved. The waiters looks unhappy, and the breakfast was served very slowly. We had a tour in the morning but the slow breakfast caused our delay for the tour.|When we book the room on Agoda, it says the room is 120 square meters , but we got changed into a room at the most 50, but the price was similar. |Although the departure process on the final day was smooth, I could sense the change of the atmosphere. The owners did a wonderful job in the first half of our trip. We appreciated their efforts in planning our accommodation and tours at the beginning. We just hoped that they could apply a more positive approach to respond our inquiries for help. Nobody wanted to make troubles, we wouldn’t keep contacting them if we didn’t expect to receive their feedbacks in a positive manner. |I believe the reason the owners changed their attitude towards us was that I kept contacting them on consistently various emerging problems of their miscommunication (eg. lack of tour information, unclarity of bathroom amenities, no daily cleaning) and eventually horrible noises in early morning, so they might feel totally annoyed. But that’s part of “service”- problem solving for your customers. Even if sometimes you cannot help out, please be responsive and sympathetic. That’s what’s called...

I'll start with the location! 5-7 minute drive from the airport / stunning views of the water / right on a road with a ton of restaurants / bars / turtle snorkeling / dessert places and of course, some Moais. There is a supermarket a few minutes away as well. I messaged with the hotel (Andrea) a ton of times and she made suggestions for romantic dinners, things to do when we weren't on a tour, cultural shows, and everything in between. I saw two different bungalows. My wife and I stayed in one and it was just what we needed. Big comfortable bed, spacious room, clean water, hot water for the shower and super fast wifi. My friend's stayed in the adjacent bungalow. Both had incredible little porches with a hammock and ocean views. The rooms had kitchens and everything you need. I can't stress how perfect this place was. It made a great trip even better. Anything we needed, they were there to accommodate. Complimentary breakfast is just steps away. A MUST STAY if you come to...
Read moreIt was literally what the name says - a vacation in Paradise. Visiting Easter Island is my biggest dream since I was 7 seven year old. I just wanted everything to be perfect. And so it was and I owe this, to a big extent, to the accommodation I chose. Paraiso Sunset Bungalows is perfectly located on the coast, and is made of big, cozy, comfortable cabins. They all have a kitchen and a desk (very important if you work, like I do). The internet works very well, the view is great, the breakfast as well but, more important than anything, the owners are amazing! Starting with Carlos and Andrea, the contact you'll have on chat (they live in Santiago) and with Senora Ximena, Carlos' mother, who simply doesn't know what to do more to make your stay more comfortable. I am so happy to have stayed with them! Even though the island is small, 4-5 days at least would be great to spend there, is a place like no other! I spent 8 and it felt so SO little. Thank you for being part of my most beautiful...
