The view was very nice from our room but after staying at a cheaper hotel in Pucon we found the other places service and value to be much higher. Frontera does not serve breakfast until 9am and they make no exceptions to this rule per their rules they give you. The other place we stayed at specially made us breakfast to go when they going out we were leaving early to go hiking. They also do not turn on the heat unless the temperature meets some arbitrary guidlines. The next place we stayed at turned on the heat immediately for us without us asking. They do not offer laundry at the hostel either like many do. Nose carries very heavily in this place, you will clearly hear everyone going up and down the stairs and every door shutting. The room was clean however and had nice hefty curtains. Good for sleepers who don't mind noise but are bothered by light. Rooms do not have a TV. Breakfast was good, typical sliced meat with cheese and bread plus yogurt, cereal and a pie type thing each day. They also have an espresso machine that's only available for breakfast. All in all a good place but there are better options in terms of services. The location is hard to...
Read moreFrontera is a small house, located in front of a lake in Pucon, but also less than 5min walk from the beach and downtown. We've stayed in the first floor room and it was HUGE, with an amazing bath tub and great shower. Definetly I recommend this hostel, which to me, can be easily called a small cute hotel!||ps: Lots of people complaining about the heat system: they actually give you some instructions in a paper, which explains that it's a general heating system that it's only activated when the temperature in the whole house reach certain degree. So it does work, but only when necessary. The bed has two heating blankets, so you won't freeze at night, most likely to sweat a lot if you leave...
Read moreThis hostel is fantastic. The rooms are extremely comfortable, the bathroom is excellent, the location is fantastic, with great view of the volcano, and it is possible to use a complete kitchen with everything there is necessary to cook a good meal. Although it is not cheap, I think it is worth the price. The only problems I have noticed are the lack of a clothes washing machine, as it is forbidden to wash clothes in the room, and the stairs. For me it was ok, but for older people, it can be a bit difficult to go up with the luggage. But Leo is very kind and helps everybody, so it is not realy a problem. I strongly recommend Frontera...
