The hotel is 2 stars but the friendliness of staff bump it up to 3. Me and a friend were supposed to stay one night but after bus times changing we stayed a second night, in a different room.||||The hotel wasn't great, but the breakfast was ok and the staff were nice. We asked for breakfast earlier than the advertised time as we had an early bus to catch and they were happy to oblige, although the message didn't get passed on (both mornings) so we had to wake someone up and rush to eat. They also stored our bags for the day while we went to a national park, although I'm not sure it was in a very secure place.||||The rooms are ok but look very worn, and are missing thoughtful touches that would make a stay nicer - such as a coat hanger, somewhere to put your bag (that's not in the way), a towel rail in the bathroom etc.||||The first room we stayed in was a twin with a nice view to the bay, but the second night was a three-bed room with a terrible view on to the backs of other buildings. Shower was good, hot water and powerful enough. ||||Overall this place is ok if you're just looking for a quick stopover as it's 2 minutes from the bus terminal and was CLP20.000 a night, breakfast included. I wouldn't recommend it for more than one night, but I also wouldn't recommend Puerto Montt for longer than that either. As with most cities, the area around the bus station...
Read moreThis hotel is in an apparently dodgy area very close to the bus terminal. We turned up for a night without reservation. Dark reception, dark rooms, old and basic. Did not look particularly safe, and I was worried that perhaps we may be robbed while we were asleep. Didn’t like it, but it was late and we had bags. The receptionist spoke good English, friendly enough and the room rate was cheap. Less than 20,000 pesos for a double room with a private bathroom. The shower functioned well with hot water. Nothing happened during the night, it was quiet and I slept not so badly. The following morning, at the breakfast table there were three more groups, all looking ordinary Chileans, probably travelling on bus like us and wanted a place to sleep near the bus terminal. Surprisingly, with such a cheap room rate we got a decent breakfast of fresh bread, jam, cheese and ham. So in the end this hotel seemed like a good budget option near the...
