Hotel La Aldea — Hotel in San Pedro de Atacama

This hotel, staff and facilities are the worst !! Stay away!! We decided to visit Chile this past summer and of course flew to Atacama. Seeing the pretty decent reviews on Booking.com we made hotel reservations here. It was a disaster from the get go !! The front desk lady was absent minded and sounded like she was doing us a favor by checking us in. We got absolutely no assistance to take our luggage to our rooms and we had to drag them all the way by hand due to the nature of the hotel set up. She just looked on. The rooms were basic and looks nothing like the pictures. The bathroom was a nightmare. There was barely any hot water or water pressure and there were 4 of us staying in that room. We made a maintenance request and they had someone show up five hours later saying that is the way it is and he couldn't do much.||The beds were uncomfortable and the furniture broken . There is no heating system in there other than a fireplace that is very limited. The breakfast the next morning was terrrible. They had one employee there and everything set up since eight in the morning. The coffee, food was stone cold and there was not much- just bare bones . We just skipped breakfast even though it was part of the room package as it was not good. ||The worst part of all this was they had the nerve to charge us for 3 days even though we stayed only for 2. We amended the reservation long time ago and even showed them the amendment confirmation. On check out they lied and told us that they cannot refund back on the credit card due to some weird policy but they would give us a check for the one day that we did not stay and that they shouldn't have charged us. That check that they gave us bounced and they charged us a whopping 800 U.S dollars for 2 days. This hotel is the worst and they steal...

Don´t waste your time or money (and please note that the price they charge is overrated considering the type of accommodation).||Worst service I have ever had in a hotel.||First of all; do not expect anyone to understand a word in English or Portuñol. Even if you try mimics they sarcastically look at you and only say in Spanish: I don´t understand you.||We got there in December, at 10am and despite my early check-in request made in September (they informed it would depend on the bookings of the day) we only got the room at 3pm. Instead of a couple bed there were 2 single and tiny beds.||After I absolutely refused to stay in this room, the girl in reception made a phone call right in front of me saying: “her reservation says 1 bed but it´s in her mobile phone and I can´t quite understand” (as if I could be trying to trick them).||The restaurant is never open and they make their own shift time according to their mood. It says in their welcome book that should be opened from 4pm and before that time you can ask room service. ||Don´t be fool. In our last day we ended up with no lunch.||We went to the restaurant at 2:45pm, the hotel receptionist and the cook said it was closed and the open time was 4pm. We asked for room service and they also said no.||We patiently waited until 4:05 pm, like a dejavu they just looked at us and said again: It´s closed.||Horrible horrible...

Quando chegamos ao “hotel” parecia ser apenas rustico, talvez um pouco velho. Mas logo percebi que na verdade era velho mesmo e sem manutenção. No quarto a agua vazava pelo cano do chuveiro toda vez que era ligado, escorrendo pela parede desperdiçando metade dela. O piso do quarto era solto, rangendo toda vez que se pisava. ||||Mas o pior foi descobrir que tanto a janela do quarto quanto do banheiro eram passagem de funcionários ou era área de serviço. Quando estávamos no quarto não era possível manter as janelas ou as cortinas abertas, nem de dia nem de noite (ver foto 1, 2 e 3). A propósito, o quarto e a área de serviço estão no mesmo plano!||||Na área externa não havia uma tabua do deck da piscina que não estivesse solta. As almofadas das poltronas da piscina não eram limpas. Havia cocô de pássaro seco em todo lugar. E só fui descobrir isto depois de ter sentado lá à noite. O cachorro do "hotel" também era usuário da piscina (ver foto 4). E embora fosse aspirada todo dia tinha a agua turva. Podia ser apenas água turva mesmo, porém tratada. O contexto de falta de asseio das instalações externas, todavia, não me permite supor que a agua era de fato tratada.||||Quanto aos serviços, o staff era até educado, mas isto não subsistia aos serviços propriamente ditos. Primeiro sempre faltava algo no café da manhã. Ovos e salsicha só vimos no primeiro dia. No ultimo dia não tinha leite. ||||No site diz que tem bar. Mas ele só funciona ate às 15 horas. Como se fica na rua ate de noite é inútil. A própria piscina, cujo uso era "permitido" até as 21 ou 22 horas, ficava com todas as luzes apagadas, ou seja , também não era pra usar.||||A jacuzzi para ser usada após as 18:00 tinha que ser paga a parte. E o preço incluía uma massagem caríssima. Não aceitaram que pagássemos apenas pela jacuzzi (embora isto fosse um absurdo já que o site não fala de pagamento a parte). Como você só retorna ao "hotel" de noite era uma opção inútil.||||Mas a ultima noite no "hotel" foi a cereja do bolo. ||||Chegamos dos passeios cerca de 18:00 horas e a recepcionista nos avisou que estavam manutenindo o encanamento e não havia água mas que logo voltava. Também o wi-fi nao funcionava. Vc todo sujo de poeira e não havia água. E precisando fazer o check-in do vôo no dia posterior e não havia internet. Resolveram fazer manutenção com o lugar cheio de hóspedes e de tarde, hora que retornamos. Muito sagaz. Mais tarde a água retornou, mas não a água quente, como é bem frio a noite, tomar banho frio não era opção. Disseram que estavam resolvendo o problema. As 22:00 parou o barulho de gente e ferramentas no corredor de serviço (lembrem que nossa janela dava para este corredor) e a agua continuava fria. Fui à recepção e o velhinho que ficava lá a noite estava se desculpando com um casal argentino pelo mesmo motivo. E ligava (ou fingia ligar) para o dono e ninguém atendia. Dormimos sem banho.||||No dia seguinte tomamos café e retornamos ao quarto e resolvi encarar um banho por partes liguei a agua gelada e comecei a me ensaboar os braços. Ainda bem que comecei pelos braços. Quando liguei novamente a água, não saía nada. De novo foram mexer no encanamento só que desligaram a água sem avisar. Fui à recepção com os braços cheios de sabão e a única coisa que a recepcionista falava era "desculpe las molestias, era una question tecnica", perguntei qual questão técnica a impediu de avisar aos hóspedes da nova interrupção água e ela se limitou a dizer que poderia tomar banho quente em outro quarto. Quer dizer que caso não tivesse ido lá teríamos saído sujos do hotel.||||Enfim, este é o breve relato.||||O “hotel” não tem os serviços que oferece. Cobra de serviços que diz que estão disponíveis sem avisar que cobram. As instalações são ruins. Sequer se dão ao trabalho de avisar os hóspedes de problemas graves quanto mais contornar convenientemente os problemas.||||Mas o pior é não avisar que os quartos que oferecem tem sua janela virada para a área de...
