We stayed for 4 nights in February while visiting the sights of the Atacama desert.||The facilities were ok but there is definitely some room for improvement across the whole hostel i.e. the bedroom doors do not open without scraping along the floor which wakes people up at night. The bunkbeds also do not feel very safe. The kitchen and bathroom were ok but would benefit from a more frequent clean. It wad also one of the noisiest hostels we stayed in, music is played until very late. The wifi is terrible but i think that is a common thing in san pedro. The hostel also do not provide towels.||Having said that, San Pedro is an expensive place to stay and if you are on a budget it is an ok place to stay. The location is pretty central, only a short walk to the town and the reception staff are...

However we did have problems in that the electrics went out whenever there was a storm. I thought this might be a standard thing in the desert but no-one else at the hostels we spoke to had such issues, presumably they had backup gemerators. The guys did their best with buckets and towels but its hardly a top...

But the beds are absolutely terrible - they squeeze 3 beds into a bunk & there isn’t even enough room to sit up in bed - it is like sleeping in a coffin. They are really poorly constructed & feel unsafe/like they are going to collapse. Every time someone moved, the whole bed rocked & squeaked. It is also about 15 minutes’ walk from the centre & the wifi doesn’t work at all. There are better options near the centre for a cheaper price. We got a very decent private room near the centre for the same price (not on booking sites, just walk...
