I had an awful time with my stay here. Prior to my stay I had emailed several times with no response to find out where I could get picked up since I was travelling by bus from Peru. I had no response until I arrived so the owner is not responsive. Similarly, ||I only had a 4 day stay and had spent a long time organising all my trips in this area to the surrounding sites in Atacama with the hostel's Juridiques family owned tour company. The first morning of my trip I was given the wrong times for pick up which meant I waited around for three hours in the morning and missed my pick up because I was given the wrong time. This meant that I also missed two of my other tours during my short stay since all the timing was off. The hotelier, Natalie was not even around and had left town, she was impossible to get hold of- she denied that she had given me the wrong time even though she had also written it down on my ticket- so the bus had left without me. ||There was no apology and the hostel had messed up this leg of my trip. Stay eleswhere since they're only interested in...
Read moreThis is a great little affordable hostal about a 10 minute walk from the main square. I stayed here with 2 other friends for about 4 nights.||||Firstly, Roberto one of the hostal owners is so lovely! I can't express enough how much he made our stay pleasant. If we needed anything at all, from advice on where to go or anything extra for the room, he gladly helped. When we had to book bus tickets he drove us to the bus station as originally we had difficulty finding it. He really went out of his way to ensure we had a positive experience. ||||The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable (though a little small as there were 3 of us so did get a little cramped with all our baggage, but it was manageable). ||||There is a lovely courtyard with hammocks centred out front of all the rooms, which was a nice place to rest and meet other travellers. The shared bathrooms were very clean and had hot showers.||||I really recommend staying here, it may be a little walk out of the main square but the helpful hostal staff and quiet location make...
Read moreThe best part about this place was that it had great and accommodating staff. My bus leaving San Pedro wasn't departing until about 8pm, but they still allowed me to stay in my room and use the shower well after normal check out times to allow me to wait for my bus in comfort instead of sitting at the bus station. Granted I was there in low season, so I don't know if it would be the same in high season, but it was still greatly appreciated.||||The hostel itself is fairly small (maybe 3-4 rooms), but it's well kept and has a comfortable courtyard, and for how expensive Chile is, the place was a bargain. Its a good distance from the city center and somewhat hard to find, so be prepared to walk for a while. Location alone is the reason it's not a perfect rating, but the helpful staff and clean rooms mean I would definitely...
