HOSTAL IRREAL — Hotel in Santiago

AVOID, HOSTILE OWNER. The hostel itself is ok, spacious yet dusty rooms, but what makes this place unacceptable is the owner. On our last day my bus was not until the evening so after check out I was chilling on the sofa for 5 mins until he said we must leave the hostel, very unusual behaviour as is common for traveler's not to vacate hostels immediately. We left without a fuss, but when we came back to get our bags that evening I quickly went to the toilet but must have been in there less than 10 seconds before I heard slamming on the door and shouting. I immediately opened up saying sorry I didn’t realise it was such an issue but he continued to furiously scream in my face like a lunatic and force my girlfriend and I out, leaving me to repack my bags on the streets. Horrible, threatening and totally unnecessary behaviour, not to mention a terribly short sighted way to run...

Positives: gorgeous cat, good location near the metro.

Negatives: the owner was erratic and hostile. you will get evicted from the building straight after checkout. I left my bags there for the day as my bus wasn’t until the evening - when I went back to collect them I used the toilet. The man was genuinely screaming and shouting at me, and banging down the toilet door. Incredibly weird behaviour and a frightening experience so I was disgusted with the customer service. He also plays music very loud. Dust everywhere. Awful shower. dead atmosphere. Avoid!

Puntos negativos: el dueño era errático y hostil. será desalojado del edificio inmediatamente después de la salida. Dejé mis maletas allí por el día ya que mi autobús no llegaba hasta la noche; cuando volví a recogerlas usé el baño. El hombre realmente me gritaba y gritaba, y golpeaba la puerta del baño. El edificio se emplaza en el casco histórico de Stgo, por ende la construcción es antigua, pero es muy bonito. Es verdad que el piso de madera suena mucho, pero es parte de la experiencia del lugar. El gatito es precioso y muy regalón. Las piezas están ok, son bonitas y con closet individual para cada una. Hay televisor y ventilador manual. Cada habitación tiene su plano de evacuación en caso de emergencia. Los baños están ok, te asignan un baño por habitación, están un poco pequeños pero lo justo y necesario. La ducha es imposible de regular, así que recomiendo ducharse con agua fría. El desayuno estaba rico, y además, cuentan con terraza de varios ambientes; sector de sillones, sector de ping pong y sector Bar con quincho. El host no es lo más amable del mundo, pero es cordial y respetuoso, mientras sigas los horarios estipulados y las reglas internas no hay problema.
