Location of the hotel is great! It's right next to the line 2 Chongwenmen Station and a short walk to line 5. There's a supermarket a few building away, which is really easy to go to. The service of the staff at the front desk is terribly disappointing - they refuse to go the extra mile and refused to help book a ride to the airport (we are unable to book it because we do not have a local number). The staff couldn't help us get wifi connected to our phone, we end up using our own phone data throughout our stay. The phone being managed by the automated system informed that we can borrow umbrella with a RMB50 deposit, but we were informed that there is no umbrella when we reached the front desk. The phone system should have been updated to inform that the umbrella has ran out.The rooms we stayed were old and rundown, it smelt like people are smoking in the rooms and there's nothing we can do. In the first room, the water pressure in the first bathroom was quite weak. This room was overlooking the main road, and there is incessant honking from the cars throughout the day, and sounds from the eateries downstairs can be loud at night. In the second room, the room is quite dated and things are not in the best shape. The showerhead holder won't hold in the 2nd bathroom and the lights were too dim, but this room was pleasantly quiet, and my kids has a blast in the theme room. Meanwhile, we want to also highly compliment a housekeeping staff, 李凤兰, for her impeccable service and ensuring that our room is clean and tidy when...
Read moreWe finished a tour here so wouldn't have chosen to stay here ourselves. I think due to the fact we were on a tour we were given one of the worst rooms available, to save the better rooms for other guests.||Our room was damp, the ceiling was mouldy and had dark circles, plus the shower was full of black mould. ||The beds were uncomfy and the room was very small and dark, there wasn't a lot of natural light coming in, and the lighting wasn't very bright either.||I felt awful as our friends had agreed to stay there and meet us as our tour ended, luckily they booked a suite which was so much nicer than our room!||Such a shame as it put a downer on the end of our trip, the staff were also rude and very unhelpful, I asked for a taxi and was rudely told that this hotel didn't call for taxis, you needed to book overpriced transport in their office.||We didn't have breakfast here as there were some great bakeries around the corner, and also a place that did amazing dumplings!||The only plus side is that the location is very good, there's a metro station on the corner and also a huge shopping mall next door.||We wouldn't stay again with a group I feel we were purposely shunted out and given lower quality rooms, but perhaps if we booked a suite and travelled seperately we...
Read moreStayed here for a total of 7 nights in early Dec together with my wife and 3 other friends (in 2 different rooms) during our recent trip to Beijing. Our original booking here was for only 4 nights, with a plan to transfer to another hotel, but in the end we decided to extend our stay here at the same hotel... not only because we were so comfortable with our rooms here, but also because of the hotel's extremely strategic location... which is directly in front of the Chongwenmen subway station (and which also happens to be an interchange station), as well as being within close vicinity of multiple shopping malls and eateries. As such, it was extremely convenient for us to carry out our daily sightseeing visits via the subway.||||We only had the hotel's breakfast for the first 4 days, but we were pretty satisfied with the wide array of options available daily, which includes a good mix of both Chinese as well as Western breakfast items.||||All in all... a very enjoyable and satisfactory stay for us here throughout our trip, with the only main hiccup being my friends' room, which had to be changed from Block B to A due to the ongoing renovations which resulted in their original room having...
