Our family of 6 stayed at the Kerry Hotel for 2 nights during our time in Beijing in two Deluxe King Rooms that were connected. The hotel is beautiful and in an excellent location, connected to the mall and indoor walkways so you can keep warm during the cold winter months. Overall, we had a good stay and would recommend this hotel to others.Pros:- high end beautiful hotel and good looking rooms/bathrooms- the kerry bakery is right beside the lobby, offering good price coffee/lattes/pasties/western and chinese breakfast options at an affordable price- the optional buffet breakfast has a good selection and is very nice as well, though for the price, i would prefer having breakfast at the Kerry Bakery instead- has a swimming pool which we didn't have time to try- very clean hotel; housekeeping is very diligent- provides ample water in rooms for hotel guests- toilet seats are high end, Heated and has an auto flush system Cons:- the hotel website advertises that they have an indoor playroom for children which was a big reason for me wanting to book this hotel. However, upon checking in, we find out this indoor playroom is in fact Not part of the hotel, but runs independently inside of the adjacent mall and is not included with your stay at the hotel. You have to pay to use it. This is not made clear at all on the Kerry Hotel Webpage and they advertise this playroom as part of their gallery on their website, leading customers like me to think the playroom is part of the hotel, like the swimming pool. No where on the website states this play area is not a part of the hotel or that it needs to be paid for. I found this false advertising very misleading, so deducted a star from the Facilities rating- Beds were unfortunately only mediocre in my opinion. I found their pillows lack support and i had some stiff neck when waking up. Their mattresses could be better too- it was...okay...i rate...
Read moreGood location, wonderful food selection in the hotel, and good selection of restaurants outside the hotel, to the king-size bed that is truly an American-size pillow top mattress king-size bed, abundance of towels. spacious room and bathroom area. controllable room temperature, outstanding staff (from the bell-hop guys to take your luggage with his friendly shy chat upon arrival and assistance with taxi service, to the security guys that try to look mean and threatening but i can tell they are really nice kittens and fathers at heart, to the front desk receptionist (sue - to mention one in particular and another girl who's name i cant recall at the moment), to the elevator guy that greets you on and off the elevator so i call him the elevator guy, to the maids (Oliva - maid) that go out of their way to make your room like your own bedroom at home, to the restaurant personnel that offer nothing but great assistance, to the hotel operator who tries so hard in her limited English to be the best assistance she can, to the safe and clean environment, to the nice health-club.................... so what impressed me the most was their attitude and effort as opposed to the actual process and outcome.... Because i imagine if they were in America and i had to convey to them in Chinese like they have to convey to me in English, i realize a few things may get lost in translation. but they were trying sooo hard and their heart was fully into providing a good service to the best of their ability. and for this reason, along with answering all my questions and solving all my needs, i give the...
Read moreThe Kerry Hotel Beijing boasts an excellent location within the central business district of Beijing, situated right next to the Guomao 國貿 area. The surrounding neighborhood is described as decent and refined. While the hotel is located within the 3rd ring road of Beijing, it is still conveniently close to major tourist attractions like the Forbidden City. The rooms are clean and well-equipped, with ample supplies and amenities provided. One example noted is the inclusion of an iron in the room, which I found very useful for ironing my clothes after taking them out of my luggage for each trip. The hotel also provides a free flow of drinking water, with the housekeeper leaving me four bottles per day. However, the real highlight of the stay was the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff. I was particularly impressed by the housekeeper on the 12th floor, who proactively asked if the room needed cleaning or if any additional supplies were needed when she saw me returning. When I requested extra towels and slippers for the swimming pool, the room service staff prepared additional items just in case. At the pool, the lifeguard noticed I had to have a swimming hat to swim, and he then helped me source one since I did not have one. He also saw that I had difficulty putting on the cap, and took the time to teach me the proper technique. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the attentive and helpful nature of all the hotel staff, stating they provided excellent service...
