Zheda Yuanzheng Lanshe Hotel — Hotel in Hangzhou City

This is a late review as I stayed there in September.I was given a room upgrade when i checked-in and it was very spacious! Room is airy, bed is comfortable. The shower and toilet have their individual rooms, which can be convenient. There is also an open-concept bathtub located near the wardrobe, which i did not use. Overall the room has a vintage charm to it! The room was also very clean. It is a boutique hotel, so there is no gym or pool (and i am fine with it). So far I have only seen 1 staff, who manages the reception counter - friendly and helpful! Location-wise, it is 10mins walk from 定安路 metro station, and the walk is along a tourist pedestrian shopping street (but most shops seems to be closed during the day and the overall street feels quiet). However, there are other lively shopping/food streets within walking distance (～10mins) from the hotel too! There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel that has buses going to the West lake and Hangzhou's main shopping street.My main gripe will be that the walls are thin -- i could hear conversations next door. The hotel is nostalgic!! And its so high tech. Bathroom equipped with modern bidet. Very clean and comfortable. Location is excellent. Only 3 bus stops away from the famous Xi Hu. But above all these are the Hotel staff services which are top notch!! Its the best hotel service we ever experienced!! The warmth, the extra mile service they rendered during our stay is beyond words. Our 2 families are absolutely full of praises for this hotel. It will always be our first choice of hotel when we are back to visit Hangzhou!! Thanks to all staff for making our stay such a wonderful experience!! We left our stuff behind at the hotel and only discovered when we arrived at the speed rail station to Shanghai. The staff offered to send over to us. But we are closed to boarding time. Hence, they helped to arrange for delivery service from Hangzhou all the way to our Shnaghai hotel. We are in awe for all the extra mile they went. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

Positive aspects:

1. Strategic location which is walking distance to malls, nearby eateries and shops. One can also rent bicycles and cycle to West Lake. For those who prefer to use a bus, just wait for no.195. West lake is the 3rd stop from the hotels bus stop.

2. Helpful staff. The staff at the counter was willing to answer our questions and provided helpful guidance to get to certain places.

3. AI room. The room uses voice-activated AI. Once can command the AI (A Chinese equivalent of Alexa) to switch on/off the lights, open/close the curtains, play music ..etc. It responds to commands in Mandarin. We didn't try commanding it in English.

4. Daily housekeeping. We really appreciate this! Not all boutique hotels do this.
