Duration of a stay & Time of year: We spent six nights at the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers and had a very enjoyable experience. We were here in early January so you needed a light coat but we had great weather for our entire stay.
Hotel Location: The hotel's proximity to many of the waterfront attractions was perfect. All with in walkable distances. The metro, bus, ferry are all very close to the hotel. It is on the corner of Nathan Road and Sailsbury Road right in front of the Harbor.
Room Accommodations & Decor: The king bed and room were large enough for my wife and I. There was a long couch with enough room to open both our suit cases on which made it very convenient. There was a small safe, iron and ironing board available. The desk was large enough for my laptop and a bunch of other stuff with no crowding. You can see the hotel had an upgrade, just not sure how long ago it was. But the room was very nice.
Bathroom - Interesting layout of the shower and tub but didn't stop me from taking a shower. Plenty of counter space to put out all our toiletries. There was a little cabinet with some toiletries available in case you needed. The bath had the usual shampoo/conditioner/body wash available and was always full. Bathrobe and slippers were provided but didn't use them. Laundry service was also available at a cost but good to know it is available. Electric/Plugs- Room has a USB-C & B plug available on both sides of the bed. In Hong Kong they use the UK style plugs. You might need an adapter. There was a small refrigerator in the room but did not use it. There was an electric kettle and supplies to make a cup of tea which was a nice feature. The light switches were a bit strange. If you wanted any of the lights/lamps to work they all had to be on. I would have liked to put just a lamp on without turning on all the lights.
TV Selections: The TV reception of channels was very limited. This wasn't a huge deal for us since we weren't in the room much. It was good to get the news but that was about it. There was a movie section but you had to pay for them.
HVAC: The temperature of the room was perfect. Because we faced the harbor the sun sometimes made it a bit warm in the room but we closed the curtains and it was very comfortable the entire stay.
Room Location: Try to get a harbor view if you can. The suite they offered was large but it overlooked a roof in the middle of the building which is not why we came to this hotel. So we changed rooms to a harbor view and was very happy with this room.
Reception/Service: From the moment we checked in to our entire stay the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The front desk, the staff in the Cafe and the rooms service were all fantastic.
Food: The breakfast buffet had a verity of local cuisine and many of the usual "Western" breakfast items. It was interesting to try some of the local cuisine we normally wouldn't eat for breakfast. The staff were very friendly and efficient to move people through the Cafe for breakfast.
Extras: They we nice to give us a late check-out because our flight back being late in the day. The Club lounge provided a view of the iconic Victoria Harbour, which also made the experience in the lounge great.
Gym/Spa/Pool: Didn't use any.
Overall Comments & Recognitions: The Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers is a fantastic choice for its location and service, special thanks to staff members like Ms. Bonnie Wong who assisted me with a personal matter and Mr. Felix and Eva in the Cafe for also helping with some...
Read moreI don't know where to start with this one. It wasn't the worst experience of my life, but it was pretty poor all the way through. To keep it short, the hotel is overpriced and service is poor. I realize Hong Kong is expensive, but I have stayed in many hotels at various price points, and the offering here is far below what others offer.
The bad: Dated design choices, the plainest rooms I have ever seen which felt unfinished or like a meeting room with a bed thrown in, cold at night and had to request a heater, housekeeping assuming no one is in room during the day and immediately opening door after knocking catching me undressed, no HDTV (at least not the channels I was watching), ridiculous laundry prices sometimes costing more than buying new clothes and dry cleaning and laundry prices are the same for several items (?), no personalized service, e.g. the welcome letter was just a form letter that everyone gets while plenty of hotels have headed letters with guest name, gym is small and outsourced which means it is full of trainers with non-hotel guests monopolizing equipment and constantly hovering waiting for machines, lines at the breakfast restaurant in the morning, and still signing bills in the breakfast restaurant for guests with breakfast included?!?
The good: Not much! The location, the views from certain areas, the smell, and the breakfast selection and quality were quite good although many of the "daily" items were the same and other items not rotated often. The croissant warmer is the first I have seen in a hotel and was absolutely fantastic to get a really warm croissant. Do NOT get rid of this! Also, despite the size of the gym and crowds, the equipment is good and new.
Overall, this hotel has chosen to squeeze guests and amenities to maximize profit. This is clear from the moment you enter. The most disappointing thing about my stay is the fact that I booked and stayed believing that as a platinum member, I would have access to the lounge featured on the hotel's website with fantastic views of the harbor and all the typical amenities of a club/executive lounge including breakfast, cocktail hour, etc. To my astonishment, upon arrival I was given access to what I later found was a converted corner suite, the so-called "Platinum Members lounge" while the ONLY lounge advertised or pictured on the website is only available for extra fees. Again, the hotel has chosen profitability over guest service by providing a small, cramped, lounge with no views worth reporting for platinum members while charging a premium for a lounge that every other Starwood hotel I have stayed at in the world also gives to its platinum guests at no extra charge. More disappointing, when I reached out to the general manager, I received a half-hearted apology via a short email that communicated little more to me than this is someone who is perhaps a bit too comfortable in his role and has become a bit complacent. The EAM was much more helpful when we met by at least taking a few minutes out of his day to answer my questions that the GM couldn't be bothered to address.
Needless to say, I don't recommend and will never...

I write this review with mixed emotions, acknowledging the staff's genuine efforts but highlighting fundamental issues that impacted our 4-day stay. While staff efforts are commendable, structural problems and management decisions compromise the hotel's potential.
The hotel's focus on quick guest turnover and cost-cutting measures compromises guest experience, which is evident in:
Limited Accessibility: The main entrance has 10-15 steps, with sealed-off wheelchair lift and escalators that are no longer in use. Guests with wheelchairs or strollers must use the vehicular ramp at the secondary entrace, navigating road humps and traffic risks. The unsheltered 5+min walk to the nearest MTR station was miserable during our rainy stay.
Overcrowding & Inadequate Facilities: Despite its popularity, the hotel struggles to accommodate the guests in the ~1000 rooms. Breakfast and Executive Lounge areas are densely packed. Staff are overwhelmed, impacting service. Investing in facility expansions would greatly enhance comfort and guest experience.
Underwhelming Executive Lounge: Furniture consists mostly of stools with low height coffee tables, encouraging quick turnover and do not provide an inviting setting for extended conversations. Unusually short operating hours (5:30-7:30pm) felt restrictive and limited seating compound issues. Comparatively, the Renaissance across the harbour offers a more inviting lounge, open for breakfast, operating from 6am-10pm and has a superior spread in terms of range and food quality.
Disappointing Food Quality: Breakfast and evening cocktail spreads fell short of 5-star expectations. Dishes lacked flavour and variety, with repetitive breakfast options tasting like a 3 or 4-star hotel. Evening cocktail offerings were mainly finger food, poor in spread and taste. This is in contrast to the plenty of excellent food options available within a 5-10min in the TST area around the hotel. Due to the disappointing experience, I did not bother going to breakfast for my last two days.
Cleanliness/Room Issues: Daily makeup didn't include vacuuming. A used q-tip remained throughout our stay, despite three room makeups (see photo attached).
Additional Observations Complimentary umbrellas, though appreciated, were often faulty or damaged, reflecting the hotel's mass-market focus. The full-size bathtub perhaps would have been better utilised to improve the space and enhance the ambiance of the relatively small room. There seemed to be some water condensation on the ceiling above the air conditioning vent. -Adding breakfast hours would not only enhance the lounge experience but also help distribute guest traffic, reducing morning wait times (that was about 15mins to get a table)
In conclusion, I'm sorry to mention that the culinary experience is the most disappointing amongst the 20 or so Marriott hotels in recent memory. Overcrowded conditions compounded the issue. Looking forward to seeing menu updates and expanded dining areas to elevate the...
