Pengke Boutique Hotel — Hotel in Shenzhen

Despite the large sign for the hotel on top of the tall building, the hotel is on the 2nd to 6th floor of the highrise in a nice area and the rest of the building is apartments. Interestingly, this hotel has windowless rooms, which was what I had. The lack of window actually made for a very quiet and good sleep.||||The rooms were very clean and recently refurbished with hardwood floors. The beds were comfortable with nice pillows and linens. However, for a new hotel, the towels were strangely very warn and tattered. The halls also smelled of cigarette smoke. The lights in the room were controlled by touchscreens with various lighting modes. However, all the lights were halogen pot lights which actually made the lighting quite harsh.||||The included breakfast was pretty good with a large selection of vegetables, noodles and pastries. Terrible experience. ||Dirty (photo:how dirty window)and small(see photo). The worst is I don't feel safe in this hotel. By the way, there is no non-smoking room. You can smell the smoke around all floor. Even I can find ashtray in my room. ||The air condition also is a big trouble to me. Seems only airflow without cooling. ||The guest stayed in this hotel who are from local China mostly. They smoke inside the room, but door is openned to let smoke out.||It is a four floors hotel. You can even hear child cry in street.||Only fine for me is their free breakfast.||DONT STAY. It is not worth for you...

We wanted somewhere cheap, clean and close to lowu. The hotel was very clean as it is quite new. Cheapish for an Australian, medium expensive to my Chinese wife. 14RMB in a taxi to lowu, so fairly close. Not having windows made it very quiet for a good sleep, but didn't see light to know it was morning. breakfast food was mainly Chinese, but toast eggs bacon and coffee for westerners. Bed was firm, but not overly hard like some chinese hotel beds. Only bad thing was no fridge, no extra sugar and no door handle on shower... Interesting exercise to get out, lol. Nice hotel, will probably stay again...
