Hotel Chandelier — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

Stayed there while I was applying to get my U.S. student visa. The people there are extremely friendly, the rooms are nice and clean. They are only around $18 a night but they do daily room service, and serve daily breakfast. They were always helpful in sending cabs and did not charge me for early cancellation fees. I stayed there for about 4 days and could not have been happier. There are grocery stores/ places to eat near there, and it's walking distance (took about 7 minutes) to the U.S. embassy. Highly recommend...

We had two rooms reserved, one for one night, one for two nights. Upon arrival of the second group they told us, they have no room and we should move into a nearby hotel. We had a valid reservation but still. Additionally they wanted to split our group (what we refused, so all four persons moved to the second hotel).||Good however: good price, modest breakfast included, ok rooms a bit noisy, safe area|Bad: No english, "forgets reservations" (even having spoken two days before), a bit away...
