In terms of the cost that I paid for the room, this hotel is 6 stars for service, 5 stars for rooms, and 4 stars for location. Everyone in the hotel was super helpful including reception, door happy helper, buffet happy helpers, and room cleaners. They tried their best to make me feel welcomed and happy. Special thanks to the amazing breakfast buffet happy helper as he was timely, efficient and friendly. He made sure to bring a special Americano cafe from the cafe bar. Always taking empty dishes away once I am done with them. He gave a special greeting with a smile on my last day at hotel. The buffet breakfast is from 6 am to 9 am … it is super yummy and diversified. They had hot soup every day. They changed couple of items every day. They can make you your own omelete if you ask for it. There is free water (with zest of fruits) near the reception … I love drinking from it when I am back to hotel after long walk. The room is luxurious and very clean … TV, Safe, Fridge, mini bar, and coffee machine are all available. What I loved most about the room is the super comfy bed and many pillows (five). Two of the pillows were hard and two are soft … amazing feeling to use both types. There is a table with chairs near the window which was in front of the park. Hot water comes quickly. Several towels. The two things to consider are: Wifi is ok but not strong … still, I was able to attend two virtual meetings with my Toastmasters club members in Canada with no issues. The room is very cold. I love cold as I am from Canada but I felt cold in this room. Please bring with you one set of winter cloths. In terms of location, it is very safe neighbourhood near a small park. There are two pizza shops less than 100 meter away from hotel. There is express Exito near the park. Though, that is it … if you want more food or money exchange or shopping, you need to cross the many streets surrounding this neighbourhood … I walked in all directions. The shortest walk is heading north towards Calle 100 for several restaurants and Carulla (grocery). The best advice is use one of the two pedestrian bridges heading east towards Carrera 15 street which has everything: restaurants, western union (currency exchange), shopping, cafe (try Azahar Cafe or Cafe Amor Perfecto), and...
Read moreSave your money and protect your safety by staying away from this hotel. I’m a journalist, and I am always traveling, and this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It’s definitely not a four-star hotel, as the amenities, customer service and facilities do not meet the criteria of a four-star hotel. While I stayed at this place, people would go into my room while I was out, and they moved things around, removed things and would open the windows.|I would come back and find my personal belongings in different places, missing pillows, open windows…on top of that the WiFi signal is weak, so it falls a lot and doesn’t work very well, so as a journalist, it was hard to connect and do my work consistently through the day. I would have to leave the hotel or get off the Wifi.|The buffet has very few options - some old, stale sliced breads, fruits and some carton tangerine juice, coffee or milk, the chocolate is cold and tastes terrible. The man serving me the first morning I was at the hotel was chatting via voice notes with someone over the phone telling them how “delicious” they looked and making inappropriate remarks, which just seemed very out of place, especially since I could hear him.|The most scandalous part for me, was the bathroom of the King sized room I paid for. It looked like the bathrooms I’ve seen at 2-star motels, with a (see photos attached) broken hair dryer that has seemingly never been changed or upgraded. Also, cracks on the walls and just two big bottles of body wash and shampoo for everyone to use - but no brand in sight, so it was commercially cheap product as well. The towels were rock hard and stiff. They felt like sandpaper on the skin.|When I brought all of this up to the owner, he said, “If you don’t like it, then leave.” So I left the hotel, at 8:30pm on a Monday, with a face full of bandages, as I had had surgery on my face the week before, and was still a few days post-surgery, recovering. This hotel is not something I recommend, and I suggest you save your money and the possibility of any of these disrespectful and invasive things happening to you, if you choose...
