I stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton Bogota for seven nights in July, 2024. As this was my first trip to Colombia, I was unsure what to expect of Bogota and the area where the hotel is located. ||We loved Bogota, and the location of the Four Points. It's within walking distance to many nice restaurants and bars in the Parc 93 area and we feel that the area where the hotel is located is very safe and one of the nicest areas of Bogota. If you book this hotel, you will not regret the location!||I wanted to commend Camelo of the front desk. He's a very helpful and friendly guy. He also recommended a restaurant to us (and helped us to book a table) at Cumbia House Gaira. The Cumbia House features a stage with a live band and performers. The food is great at this place, and we were impressed with the quality of the musical performance. Camelo is a very helpful and nice guy!||The breakfast at the hotel is basic, but tasty, and the waitstaff are very friendly. ||The rooms are small at this hotel, and as other mentioned, don't expect an upgrade if you are Titanium. I am Titanium and the hotel assigned us to a tiny "accessible" room. There was a bar literally over the toilet so that we couldn't use the bathroom without the bar touching our shoulder. The shower was huge to accommodate handicapped people, which took away floor space in the bedroom. We couldn't even open all of our luggage because there was insufficient floor space in this room. I requested to be moved to another room on the second night, and the new room had more floor space. One issue that I really hope the hotel can fix are the curtains. No matter how you adjust the curtains, the edges allow lots of light to come into the room in the morning. The sun rises at 5:50AM, and the light woke me up early every day. I heard other guests complaining about this issue as well. I didn't sleep very well in the mornings due to the curtains not blocking out light. ||In summary, the Four Points Sheraton Bogota is located in a nice area, and the staff are amazing. The rooms are small and basic, but clean and well maintained. I would stay here again when I...
Read moreUPDATE: The response from the GM Alejandra is incorrect and her employees either lie to her or she is more likely only saving face for herself.
My wife was not only approached by the security officer. She was also approached by a woman who worked in the restaurant. She was never asked for her room number.
She was asked: Who are you waiting for? How do you know this guest? Are you here to do business, why are you meeting them here?
Coming right to the line of accusing my wife of being a prostitute without actually saying it.
These questions are totally out of line and I'm disappointed. Alejandra put yourself in this position. How would you feel or react?
Also you never sent me my points. Where is your accountability, Alejandra?
Extremely Disappointed with My Stay!
I had an unacceptable experience at Four Points Bogotá. On multiple occasions, hotel staff approached my wife with inappropriate questions, implying she was not a legitimate guest. She was repeatedly asked why she was at the hotel, who she was waiting for, and whether she was conducting "business" there. The implications of their questions were clear and completely inappropriate. She also dresses modestly, so that is not an acceptable excuse. At one point, she was even physically escorted to the front desk to reverify her registration, despite having checked in with me using her passport.
I attempted to resolve this issue with management, but the General Manager refused to speak with me. I waited in the lobby for four hours with no resolution. As a Lifetime Gold Marriott Member (one year short of Lifetime Platinum), I expected far better service and accountability.
Their response? A small cheese plate and an offer of 5,000 points—which I have yet to receive six days later. This level of customer service is unacceptable.
For anyone considering this hotel, I strongly advise against it. Guest safety and dignity should never be compromised, and management’s failure to address serious concerns reflects poorly on both Four Points Bogotá...
Read moreI just completed three nights at the Four Points Bogota with my girlfriend.... overall very good hotel and staff.
The room itself was extremely comfortable, very quiet, excellent quality of materials, nice bathroom, excellent bed and bedding.
Gonzalo (bellman) and Elkin (reception) are exceptional at their respective jobs. After day 1, both Gonzalo and Elkin remembered my name for the rest of the stay and greeted me by name every time I passed by the lobby- they were always on the lookout to help with bags, questions, etc. Absolutely fantastic job.
Great SPG recognition including allowing us to have a room on the 8th floor (Starwood Preferred Guest)- which had a great view and was very quiet.
The hotel is well located- just a five minute walk from Parque 93- and its quiet.
The only downsides:
The pool does not work (and has never worked- and will never work). I have been visiting the hotel for almost two years and the pool never opened due to permitting issues- the outside deck by the pool was also closed (shame, because its a really nice space).
I was also disappointed with the F&B team. The free breakfast buffet is inferior in number and quality of options than the Aloft hotel where we had stayed the nights before. The bread options were largely stale (the pancakes were very stale), the staff seemed very indifferent and largely unhappy with their jobs. I asked for an omlette with only cheese and mushrooms and received an omlette (which I am guessing was prepared by accident for another guest) that had ham, onions, tomatoes, etc. A little bit disappointing.
Overall- strong recommendation on the Four Points Bogota despite a few small glitches. The reception staff more than make up for it and did an...
