The hotel is awesome with MANY amazing amenities to offer and fantastic esthetics. The pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub are GREAT! The hotel is a close walking distance to many great restaurants, shops and ATM’s. The included breakfast you can get at the cafe near to the checkin was delicious. The breakfast included fresh fruit, cheese, bread, scrambled eggs and a hot beverage. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone when generally speaking and would rate the experience as a 3.5 star if possible for this review. The major downfall is the location of this being right near the major intersection of Calle 8 and Carrera 12. The noise from the engines and horns of the nearby traffic (Large trucks, motorcycles and cars) is continuous and can be heard throughout the night, early morning and day. I’m sure all the hotels on this section of road have the same issue, but I cannot speak with experience of them. I again want to stress that the hotel is beautiful, has fantastic service and all the employees were great and accommodating, but I will definitely look to stay somewhere similar but a few blocks back away from this major intersection in the future to try to find something more quiet at nighttime. When staying a “resort” like hotel, I need to be able to relax in peace, quiet and tranquility when I’m eventually back in my room ready for bed.

We spent 2 nights on July 8, 2023 Room 212 -they made us sign for everything in the room (fridge, TV, TE, bed sheets, shower head, etc etc etc -The bath had no ventilation, barely space for the toilet, the shower had a door lock (great if someone passes out while bathing), and no shelves in the bathroom either -no AC, no ceiling fans, no coffee maker, no hair dryer -no electrical outlets available except the one behind the bed’s headboard -The safe box not working -translucent curtains (they were not in the inventory🤪) POSSIBLY THE WORSE HOTEL WE STAYED EVER

What a nice surprise, we didn't know about this place and was our driver who recomended to us, maybe the normal rooms are not that great, but for a good price you can upgrade to this beautiful suite with balcony and hot tub, at night you can turn on the fireplace and become the most romantic experience, is just few blocks away from the main square and the walk is fantastic, all the staff is great and cute, they really want you to have the best experience, the breakfast is delicious and has a great pool... is a very good deal!!

We stayed a couple nights here, having arranged the room on the spot after driving from Bogotá. The price was reasonable for the modest-sized room, which was clean and mostly comfortable enough. The staff members (reception desk, bell hop, breakfast room worker) were quite friendly and helpful, although I should note that we did not encounter anyone who apparently spoke English; probably too shy, so my mediocre Spanish worked fine. There is secured parking gratis, which we appreciated. My only quibble was that the bed is too short for me – and I’m not especially tall at 6’1”. The bed was at least as wide as a queen-sized bed though. The hotel is in a convenient location in that it is on the edge of the older (interesting) part of town, so it is easy to drive in and out of town and also walk to Plaza Mayor and pretty much any restaurant in 10-15 minutes maximum – although there are a couple decent restaurants...

We stayed with two families for one night in 4 rooms. All rooms were what you expect in Villa de Leyva, colonial style. The rooms are clean but in some aspects a bit worn out. ||||What struck us as unacceptable was the staff at the check in desk, absolutely not customer friendly and unhelpful. We have travelled a lot in Colombia and have never been asked for ID of our children, the lady would not let us check in because we had no ID for the children with us. The hotel did not point this out that this is crucial for checking in. They were able to contact me to switch from a booking through a website to a direct booking! But not to advice us that they cannot check in without ID of the children. ||||The only person who was friendly and helpful was the lady at the breakfast buffet. All in all the place is fine, but there are a lots of places in Villa de Leyva where staff cares about the guests. We will not go back...
