El Solar de la Guaca — Restaurant in Boyacá

Such a bad experience in an otherwise beautiful restaurant with great live music.

Took 30 minutes to be acknowledged by someone, had to ask a server and turns out the server that helped us wasn’t our server, this led to our order been incomplete, our drinks not arriving, and half of our food arriving cold and wrong.

It was almost impossible to get server to stop by table, although the place seemed under staffed, the training and order in which this restaurant operates leaves a lot to be desired.

When it was time to pay, bill was wrong, was missing things and had items we didn’t order.

We were there over 3 hours and still had 2 people in our party who did no get any food.

Manager in the area where we pay the bill was extremely unbothered by the situation, and he sent a small one cup ice cream to one of us as an apology, looked like the ice cream you get from a street vendor for a child. Manager was a man around 40c a bit thick with a tight long sleeve shirt

Terrible experience and management...

Its one of the nicest/fanciest/coziest places you can visit in Villa de Leyva, they had Live Music and it was awesome!

Their Chorizo and Morcilla are absolutely a waste of time (that morcilla is one of the worst ive ever had in colombia.) (chorizo was like 5/10).

Potatoes was a mixed experience as some of them were undercooked and tasted like soil, plus no salt, some of them were good after being seasoned.

They did not had any hot sauce (girl had to bring me fresh smashed chile, and i had to make my own with the Lime and spices) (i was glad she got it for me).

Chicharron may not look nice in the picture but was totally worth it, but it had NO Bones! and it was absolutely perfect!! Crunchy!!! and great! one of the bests ive ever had, my attendant Sandy recommended it after the bad experience of the other entree.

Live Music was amazing, the guy was a real show! and people around was nice.

Prices are really good for the quality of the place...

The atmosphere is very good. They had a live band playing which was amazing! The place itself looks amazing too, big open patio but also an inside area, it has a lot of atmosphere!

Service could be improved. We booked a table and when we arrived we asked to be sat at a different table so we could actually see the band and they responded with "can't do, that table is reserved". We argued well so is ours, and we've arrived first so we should have dips on the better table, after which they accommodated us. I also had to remind them about a bottle of water I ordered and serving drinks in general was quite slow.

Food was quite good but nothing mind blowing crazy awesome. We had the soup and the white fish, both were very decent and tasty but again, nothing overly special.
