Hotel Dix — Hotel in Medellín

Stayed at the hotel for three nights. Was waiting for the elevator to check out and when it opens the front desk guy is there asking if I’m checking out and my room number. I wait outside my room while he checks the minibar and room. All is good and we go down to check out. Inquire about the cost of a taxi to the airport. They let me know they can call a cab it will be safer in case you leave anything in the cab. Tells me to go and wait and they will let me know when it arrives. Three minutes later the guy that checked my room comes over with a half eaten can of prickles that he said he found while going back to check my room again. He made me sign the bottom of a new minibar sheet. I signed it and put a line down the sheet and wrote ok on it. Should of taken pictures of the guy and the sheet. I will have to wait and see if they try to charge up for contents from the minibar. Booked through Agoda did not use my card at the hotel Two minutes later he says the taxi is here. Go out and it is not a taxi probably an Uber friend so they get a cut. It was a little sketch but I new the route to the airport. After thoughts should of got into that vehicle. Definitely not what I was expecting, I felt me more like in a motel but not in a hotel, the girl at the reception was so rude, she was making an unpleasant check-in process and definitely a very uncomfortable welcome. Then the guy who guide us to the room made us feel not as guests but intruders and made us count every single peace at the room in case we will rob it and sign a paper for this, this was unbelievable! And I was with my 70 y.o. mother, First time ever we experienced this in a Hotel! I think he was a new team member but they need some training if they are working at the customer service industry.

Pros: The area where is located

Cons: There is a "buffet" but you cannot self serve, the bathroom is not separated but in the same room, lack of lighting in the room and I can't believe I booked this place for the jacuzzi and they said we couldn't use it because we needed to schedule it in advance but how can do that since we just arrived? no sense at all, they said it was booked already but went I came to the roof it was just empty and closed. Being this said, terrible customer service....

Very good location. Right in the middle of El Poblado which is a safe area of Medellin. Restaurants, bars, coffee shops and more on your doorstep. Supermarket as well. Hotel is very clean. Room was big and spacious. Includes a fridge, air conditioning, television, some complimentary toiletries and a few other basic amenities. Breakfast is included which was basic but nice. This included eggs, arepas, cereal, fruit and more. Coffee not so good. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Wifi worked fine. My small negatives were the bathroom layout with the toilet and shower separate and then the sink in the main part of the room. The shower was one of those high ceiling ones which I hate as I don't feel like it cleans you properly. The hotel looks very new or it has been renovated recently. I arrived before I could check in. My room was not ready but the hotel will hold your luggage until it is....
