I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. On the first night , while I was outside the hotel having diner with my friend , my credit card which was in my hotel room got changed for $1528. On calling the credit card company right away , they informed me that my credit card chip had been inserted in a machine to be used , as Per my knowledge, my card was secure in my room with my other belongings. So I kept the credit card company on hold and ran towards my room. Sure enough, the hotel was locked from inside and I had to wait out side for 10 minutes for the person on duty to open the hotel whose name was Sebastian. On going to my room , I discovered my card in my wallet. The only way the credit card company told me this could happen is , if someone when into the room with a mobile credit card machine , which is exactly what happened ||The same this happened to my friend a day before . His credit card was attempted to be charged for $800 the same way. ||On contacting the manager , he took no responsibility abd we could clearly understand that he was in this scam too and the whole hotel is involved in this , as he kept giving excuses which did not make any sense as to the credit card machines in the hotel are hard wired , so this cannot happen. ||There fore all guests have been warned , do not stay in this hotel , do not get robbed. I would Blacklist this property. Not sure how many guests might have been scammed by them before. ||The manager was more upset about me giving them a true review that to solve the issue. ||Attached is a picture of the charges also. ||Good luck to you if you have...
Read moreIn my previous review I mentioned about the credit card fraud done by this hotel staff in multiple rooms. We did try to reach the manager regarding the issue , that the credit card company clearly told us that , our credit card chips were inserted in the machines , even though are cards were in our rooms , when we were out for dinner . But as per the managers logic , all the credit cards machines are hard wired and cannot reach the room , and the city which the credit card machine is registered is in Antioquia , and not Medellin where their hotel is , so it was not done at the hotel. Which is also nonsense as it’s a wireless device and can be carried anywhere. He says wireless machines are not a available in Colombia, which is a lie too , as they have a multiple ones in every restaurant, which they get to your table to charge the credit cards. The whole hotel is involved in this credit card fraud process as the manager himself is in denial mode and is more concerned about my previous review , than looking into the problem. Anyway , you have been WARNED. Do not stay here. I am 100% sure this is not a isolated incident and has happened before and will happen again. I had a American Express platinum with full fraud protection, so I did get reimbursed , but the next victim might not be lucky. Or put video camera’s in your rooms to monitor. Best is to Blacklist this property. I will be contacting all travel websites where this hotel advertises and let them know about my experience...
Read moreOur original stay at this hotel was going to be for 3 nights, but we checked out the next day. We stayed on the top floor in a spacious room with great lighting! When I walked in, I loved it as the morning sun was coming in the open windows and curtains. By the next morning I couldn't wait to leave! Just across the street is a pretty popular bar/club and open or closed, the windows did absolutely nothing to cut out any of the sound. I felt like I was trying to sleep in a club. ||The room seemed clean enough, other than a few stray pubic hairs in the tub (meh.). The wifi was crap - off and on all day/night, but over all, didn't work much at all. The staff assured me it was a problem the whole neighborhood was temporarily experiencing, but I don't know for sure.||The staff seemed fairly nice, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless they literally just need a bed to crash on between partying. For the same price you can find something a few blocks away that's much nicer and more comfortable.||Oh, one last thing - there's commonly a 16% tax that's added on to your booking here (we used Agoda and in the email confirmation it mentions there's this tax that's not yet included, so be careful!). We looked at 2 different hotels after this one and they both said that with a US passport you don't need to pay this tax. This place never mentioned that to...
