Pros: The GM was very nice and the check-in process was pretty easy. The rooms, bed linens, and bathroom was clean. The AC worked very well!||Cons: The Wifi was spotty, which seemed to be a town-wide issue, but we found it especially inconsistent at the hotel. The office closes at 8pm, so forget about getting a taxi called and there's NO security, which was a big problem in the area it's in. The street it's located on was completely unpaved and seemed pretty dangerous at night(example: pack of dogs hangout on road in front of hotel). Be prepared to be woken up around 7am-7:30am every morning to the sound of said dogs barking. We were only given 1 set of keys; 1 for the security gates(which were always open even after we locked them) and 1 for the sliding glass door that in the entrance to the room. Also, there was no way to lock the door from the inside, so everyone has to leave or stay in the room otherwise you have to be locked into your own room. Not a great system AT ALL! Finally and very importantly, the location is pretty far from the water(1 mile). We walked it a couple times during the day, but at night it seemed unsafe and frankly pretty scary!||Bottom line, for the higher than normal nightly rate($85/night) I would not suggest this hotel. Do your research on multiple trip review sights, because we found when traveling Colombia TA wasn't as consistent as it has been in other...
Read moreCan't find fault! The location is a bit tricky as yes, it's up the hill and a good ten minute walk from the town, on the other hand it's lovely and quiet for exactly that reason - you're away from the noise and thumping bass of the seafront. |The staff are great; nothing was too much trouble. They helped me change my Avianca flight which was a nightmare - fortunately they helped me by allowing me to use their landline - a godsend! Fantastic room with huge bed- slept so well. Breakfast delicious, cocktails yummy - sitting on top of the roof sipping mojitos is fabulous. Lots of options for excursions, with a handy pack the staff have put together giving info. Great to use as a base for exploring the area, as there's not that much to do in the...
Read moreThis beautiful little hotel has an amazing view of Taganga Bay and because of its elevation experiences an almost constant welcoming breeze. Other reviewers have remarked upon its rocky road but hey this is Colombia not Beverley Hills and frankly if a five minute walk up an untarmacked path is not to your liking then perhaps Beverley Hills is the place for you. The rooms are modern and kept spotlessly clean. The management team and staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly but by the same token their professionalism is very apparent in the day to day running of the hotel. It's my first visit to Kikuxtah and indeed to Colombia but if I return which I surely will I cannot imagine wishing to stay anywhere else.||Highly...
