This place is pure magic, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone seeking a perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and outstanding hospitality. From the stunning beachfront views to the warm, welcoming staff, every moment has been unforgettable. A huge thank you to Alan, the General Manager, whose hospitality made us feel like royalty from day one. He was always around, ensuring we had everything we needed, and his genuine care for guests shone through in every conversation. Whether he was sharing local insights or just checking in with a smile, Alan made our stay truly special. Jacob at the front desk was equally amazing—his friendly demeanor and helpfulness made checking in seamless, and he went out of his way to guide us on local activities and dining options. His warmth set the perfect tone for our trip. The restaurant staff deserve all the praise! Every meal was a highlight, from the free continental breakfast with the freshest tropical fruits to dinners that left us raving. The chicken nachos, shrimp rice, and mahi mahi were phenomenal, but the real stars were the fruit smoothies and piña coladas—hands down the best I’ve ever had! The smoothies were bursting with fresh mango, pineapple, and papaya, and the piña coladas were the perfect blend of creamy and refreshing, especially sipped by the pool. The open-air dining area with ocean and pool views was the cherry on top, and the staff’s attentiveness made every meal feel like a treat. Big props to Ramona for her epic piña coladas and Miguel for keeping us laughing with his infectious energy! The resort itself is a slice of paradise. The grounds are lush and impeccably maintained, with a sparkling pool that’s perfect for lounging. Our room is clean, cozy, and has a balcony with breathtaking ocean views—falling asleep to the sound of waves has been a dream. The Wi-Fi is solid, and the air-conditioned rooms are a lifesaver in the tropical heat. The location on Playa Hermosa’s dark sand beach is unbeatable, especially for surf lovers. This weekend, we got to witness a surfing competition right on the beach, and it was absolutely thrilling! The waves were massive, and watching world-class surfers tackle them just steps from the resort was unreal. The energy was electric, and even as non-surfers, we were glued to the action, strolling along the shoreline to take it all in. The beach’s “no swimming” rule due to the strong waves was clearly posted, which we appreciated, and there are plenty of nearby spots like beach bars and restaurants within walking distance to explore. Fuego del Sol has stolen our hearts. The combination of Alan’s exceptional leadership, Jacob’s warmth at the front desk, the restaurant staff’s incredible service, and those unforgettable smoothies and piña coladas has made this trip one for the books. I'm still pinching myself after spending an incredible stay at Fuego del Sol resort in Costa Rica! This hidden gem exceeded all my expectations and left me feeling like I was in tropical paradise.

The resort's restaurant served up a delicious breakfast spread, with the 'Desayuno Típico' being a standout favorite. The gallo pinto, eggs, and plantains were a perfect blend of local flavors and comfort food, and the fact that it was included in the room rate was the icing on the cake. The restaurant staff especially Flavia were amazing, attentive, and friendly, making every meal a pleasure.

But the real pièce de résistance was the secluded beach just steps away from my hotel room. The sound of the waves and the ocean breeze created a serene atmosphere that made it impossible to stress. The beach itself was stunning, with waves that were perfect for swimming and sunbathing.

And when I needed a break from the sun, the pool and swim-up bar were the perfect spot to relax. The pool was crystal clear and refreshing, and the swim-up bar served up delicious cocktails and snacks.

The staff at Fuego del Sol were exceptional, particularly Jacob at the front desk who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. From booking tours to recommending local restaurants, Jacob's knowledge and friendly demeanor made me feel like I was in good hands.

Alors.. par quoi commencer.. Nous sommes arrivés au fuego Del Sol et alors qu'on avait réservé une chambre "front de mer", nous avons eu la surprise d'être logé en face de la réception. Après réclamation et une longue attente de la réceptionniste qui semblait ne plus savoir quoi faire, celle-ci nous indique que la chambre en front de mer et inaccessible car ils ont des problèmes électriques et donc, ils nous ont surclassé dans l'appartement du site. Alors OK, l'appartement est grand et franchement beau mais pourquoi nous mentir alors qu'on pouvais voir que les 2 chambres front de mer était occupées par des touristes ?? Un geste commercial aurait été le bienvenu (cocktail ou un repas offert) car même si nous avons été surclassé dans l'appartement, cela n'a rien à voir avec un front de mer ou vous pouvez admirer l'océan de votre chambre L'hôtel en lui-même est franchement agréable et très propre et la piscine sympa. Il est au bord de la plage de sable noir ce qui est très bien. Des transats sont à disposition sur la plage mais il est dommage qu'ils n'ait pas pensé à mettre des paillotes en paille par exemple pour le confort de leurs clients et se protéger du soleil. L'hôtel est très bien entretenu et les femmes de ménage font des merveilles tellement c'est propre. L'appartement est top avec une cuisine aménagée.. Attention, les chambres "standards n'ont pas de cuisine contrairement à ce que j'ai pu lire mais elles sont très belles, rénovée. Il n'y a pas de gel douche.

La restauration : Très très déçu. Pour le petit-déjeuner qui est inclus dans le prix vous avez le droit à trois types de menu.. "Américain" qui consiste en deux petites saucisses et une omelette, accompagné d'une assiette avec quelques morceaux de fruits dessus et de café. Le "tipico" qui consiste en du riz avec des haricots rouges, des œufs, des bananes plantain, du beurre fouetté et deux morceaux de toast triangulaire accompagné là aussi d'une assiette avec quelques morceaux de fruits et de café. Le "pancake" qui consiste en deux pancakes une assiette avec quelques fruits et du café. Je vous recommande de prendre le tipico car l'américain est franchement ridicule, les saucisses trop cuites comme les œufs brouillés qui était à moitié sèché.

Le service au restaurant et franchement délétère.

À part un jeune homme très gentille et une demoiselle le midi souriante, le reste du personnel ne vous dit pas bonjour, ne répondent pas à votre bonjour, vous balance le petit déjeuner comme si c'était pour les cochons et lorsque vous redemandez une deuxième tasse de café et bien vous pouvez l'attendre longtemps. Nous n'avons même pas osé demander une deuxième assiette de fruits alors que nous sommes dans un pays où les fruits poussent à volonté et que c'est l'endroit où on devrait pouvoir se régaler. C'est d'ailleurs l'un des seuls hôtels du Costa Rica ou nous n'avons pas eu la possibilité de se servir à volonté de fruits.

Pour le restaurant payant du midi, le premier jour nous avons bien apprécié le plat même si le chef s'était trompé puisque celui-ci devait être livré avec du riz et qu'il a été livré avec des pommes de terre.. Mais le lendemain, il n'y avait quasiment pas de sauce sur le poulet, et le riz était du riz blanc nature, la salade n'était pas assaisonnée et mon compagnon qui avait pris du bœuf, s'est retrouvé avec un morceau de bœuf qui ressemblait plus à une semelle de chaussures, très grasse, et aussi avec du riz blanc et de la salade non assaisonnée.

C'était franchement mauvais et nous n'y sommes plus retournés surtout quand on paye quasiment 50 dollars pour deux.

Donc en résumé un bel hôtel et je pense que le manager fait son possible pour qu'il tourne correctement mais il y a de grosses lacunes avec les salariés et la cuisine. Attention aussi au bruit car les chambres proche de la réception et donc de la route doivent supporter l'arrivée et le départ des touristes et des bus qui laisse tourner leur moteur des fois pendant 10 à 15 minutes avec les gaz d'échappement qui vous parfume la chambre.
