My friend and I absolutely loved staying in this spot! The owners were very friendly and helpful and were able to answer any questions we had and make local phone calls for us when needed. They also served a homemade traditional breakfast each morning that was delicious and inexpensive. The cabins are clean and well kept, there is a ton of space and cute decor, there is also a private driveway for each cabin if you have a rental car. We never felt unsafe here. Several times we walked down the road and received smiles from any locals we passed. The location is great, it is a short drive into town or a longer but doable walk if you prefer. Up the road in the other direction is the beautiful La Fortuna waterfall. It is within reasonable walking distance but please beware it is all steep uphill so opt for a cab if you are not up for the challenge, especially on a sunny day. It is also right across the road from a chocolate plantation tour which we absolutely loved, and just a few steps down the road from a small fruit drink stand which we also enjoyed visiting. Behind the hotel there is a path that leads to the river if you'd like to explore back there or spend some time dipping your feet in on the rocks. I would most definitely return to this spot if we were to ever visit the...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic, we loved the location as it was out of town but only cost £2 in an Uber to get into town. The owner upgraded us for free to one of the new rooms next to the river. This looks like it had just been built all very new and tasteful, huge comfortable bed, great shower, fridge, air conditioning, kitchen and a hot tub on the decking. We were right next to the river so was really good to see the birds and animals. Enjoyed the night sounds as well. Only issue was the walk from the reception to our room was a bit of a hike but the owner took us in the car, which was good with our big bags. Walking in the dark back to our room was an experience though, we couldn’t see the path and kept walking into bushes, would be good to have more lights on the path. I think there were lights but the bulbs had gone out. Owner very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us even offered to drive us to the waterfalls as only a few mins away. Also helped us booking trips and recommended we use an Uber in between the waterfalls and the hanging bridges. We used an uber all day and much cheaper than booking trips. Didn’t like breakfast much as not a fan of...
Read moreMy gf and I stayed in one of their cabins. Located on same road into la fortuna waterfall. Around the corner and couple minutes drive to fortuna downtown where their is liveliness. Restaurants, shopping ,etc. Must stop to check out. Airbnb style, price was fantastic. Owner and his family are very nice and accommodating. Employs staff that do the cleaning and up keep of his property which is very beautiful. Their is a ridiculously beautiful pathway behind the cabins which lead down the a river/stream. Breakfast is anywheres between 6-8. Extra $5 per person for the breakfast. But well worth it. Starts with a fresh bowl of fruit, bananas, watermelon, pinapple. Then you get a hot dog, scrambled eggs, cheese and cooked plaintain. And a bowl of their rice which was really good. Oj,coffee, tea. And while your eating outside on the patio area. They have a bird feeding setup just feet away where exotic birds come and land and feed on the fruit they stick out there. Even spotted a toucan while there. I highly...
