I had very high expectations when booking the Radisson Beach Resort Larnaca, but sadly, my experience with my partner was the opposite of what I imagined a 5-star stay should be. Having stayed at both Lordos Beach Hotel and Golden Bay Hotel previously, I can honestly say that Radisson fell far short in almost every area of service and cleanliness.
The problems with housekeeping started from the very beginning. We checked in on the 5th August, and on the 6th I asked ever so politely at reception if we could have our housekeeping service in the morning instead of late afternoon. The receptionist reassured us immediately with, “Yes, of course.” That promise was never kept. Day after day, our room continued to be cleaned late in the afternoon, often between 4:00–5:30pm, which made it impossible to come back around that time to shower and have clean towels as we expected. Honestly, it wouldn’t have been such a big issue if they had simply told us they couldn’t fulfill that request. Instead, we were strung along with empty assurances until the very end of our stay — by which point we had both had enough.
On Sunday the 10th, I asked at reception several times for our room to be cleaned. After waiting over 40 minutes, nothing was done. The most frustrating part was the response I received from one of the receptionists — a young woman with short blonde hair with highlights and light-coloured eyes — who had an attitude from the moment I spoke to her. I even told her that I understood it wasn’t her fault personally, to which she replied in a dismissive tone, “Yeah, we know it’s not our fault.” That level of arrogance at reception is something I have never experienced in any 5-star hotel. I eventually had to speak to housekeeping directly to get the room cleaned.
To make matters worse, the pool was filthy at times. On Sunday the 10th, it was cloudy and yellow, with visible hairs and dirt floating in the water, to which I found out on a later date that the filter got blocked by an child’s toy. Despite this, the pool was left open without warning, and people were told they can go in but at their own risk. I found that both unhygienic and unsafe.
Service overall was unbearably slow. On Wednesday the 13th, we waited more than half an hour for beach towels that should have been available at 9:00am. The same problem happened again on Friday the 15th. For a supposedly luxury hotel, these basics should run smoothly, but at Radisson everything felt like a constant wait.
Our Premium Sea View Room on the 8th floor delivered the stunning view we paid for. We also enjoyed two spa treatments (a Swedish massage and an Active Pureness facial), and the spa staff were kind, welcoming, and professional — a complete contrast to the attitude we experienced at reception.
From start to finish, this hotel let us down. Housekeeping was a daily battle, promises from reception were made and never kept, the pool was dirty, and the service overall was slow and unprofessional. What frustrated me most is that problems could have been avoided if the staff had simply been honest and delivered even a basic level of service consistently.
Right now, I am staying in another 5-star resort — St. Raphael’s in Limassol — and the difference is impeccable. In just two days, we’ve experienced service that is genuinely 5-star: staff who go above and beyond, attention to detail, and thoughtful touches that actually make guests feel valued. It is our anniversary, and St. Raphael’s acknowledged it beautifully without me even needing to ask, via our booking. At Radisson, nothing was done at all — but looking back, am I surprised? No.
Radisson Beach Resort Larnaca is simply not a 5-star experience, and I would strongly advise anyone considering a stay here to...

My parents and I embarked on our very first adventure to Cyprus, and we couldn't have chosen a more perfect place to stay than the Radisson Beach Resort Larnaca. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, our experience was nothing short of exceptional.
First and foremost, the food at this resort was simply amazing. Every meal felt like a culinary journey, with flavors that left us craving for more. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the resort's chefs truly outdid themselves. We relished every dish, and our taste buds danced with delight throughout our stay. (Our scale at home was shocked by the weight we gained)
Room service was top-notch as well. While there were a few days when they missed replenishing towels, it was hardly a concern given the overall fantastic service we received. The room itself, however, was an absolute gem. Its romantic view was a constant blessing, providing us with picturesque sights both day and night.
Visiting Cyprus in August was a brilliant decision. The weather was perfect—neither too hot nor overly crowded. We appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, especially coming from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The hotel staff deserves special recognition. The receptionists were always available, and their proficiency in multiple languages, including English and Russian, made communication effortless. Their friendliness and willingness to assist us with anything we needed were remarkable.
The proximity of the beach, mere seconds away from the hotel, was nothing short of amazing. While the beach itself didn't have sand or a space to lay down, walking straight from the asphalt into the sea was quite an unique experience. It added a touch of novelty to our beach outings, and returning to the sun loungers afterward was a delightful experience.
For those seeking entertainment and excitement, a quick and affordable bus ride to the center of Larnaca provided all the fun you could desire. It was the perfect balance between relaxation and adventure, making it an ideal choice for adventurous travelers.
Moreover, the hotel's amenities included a small gym, which, though modest in size, allowed us to maintain our fitness routines. Additionally, there were outdoor gym spots, which we found to be a unique cultural touch, especially for someone from Germany. It added an extra layer of authenticity to our experience.
The tours we took to Paphos and Famagusta were the highlight of our trip, offering a deep dive into Cyprus's rich culture and history. "Cyprus Day" was the cherry on top, with traditional food, musicians, and dancers making our last day in Cyprus feel like a meticulously chosen vacation finale.
A heartfelt shoutout to Manager Janetta, who was always there to assist us with any concerns or questions we had. Her dedication and attentiveness were greatly appreciated.
Last but not least, our most memorable interactions were with a wonderful waitress who spoke both German and English fluently. She not only served us with grace and charm but also shared captivating stories and insights about Cyprus, enriching our experience and leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.
In conclusion, our stay at Radisson Beach Resort Larnaca was nothing short of magical. The entire team at this hotel, from the manager to the staff, are genuine gems that made our Cyprus vacation unforgettable. We are immensely grateful for the warm hospitality, the delectable food, the stunning views, the unique beach experience, and the cultural adventures. We can't wait to return to this paradise by the sea. Cyprus, and the Radisson Beach Resort, you have captured our hearts!

Read moreIve stayed at other Radissons and this one is by far the cheapest built and the least enjoyable. Its is absolutely not worth the price that you have to pay. I got a small discount but it was still way, way too expensive for what it is.
The best part of this hotel is its staff and how professional, friendly and helpful they are, from the front desk employees to the waiters at the Beach bar restaurant and the room and overall hotel cleaners and and porters. There were only one or two hiccups.
Heres the thing, we had a ground suite. The last one, closest to the beach which has a pool running outside in front of all the rooms along this section. Its seemed good to start but the curtain on the main window door side wasnt long enough to reach each corner so we had light streaming into the room day and night. (The sun from very early and the hotel lights through the night.) We were not provided ear plugs or eye masks or told that we may need them. Usually I have my own but this trip was short and I thought I wouldnt need them being at a Radisson. I was wrong.
The small mosaic tiles in this pool, are coming off the wall. You cant see it straight away but if you stand on one of these it its at a bad angle in the pool, hurts a ton.
There is no standard mirror in the bathroom, just a very high magnifying vanity mirror on the wall. The glass doors to the bathroom had their protective rubber strips coming off which caused issues with the doors latching together. This was fixed, however, only after the 2nd time we asked for maintenance to come do so.
A breakfast buffet was included which we were grateful for, however, the buffet dinner runs at €30 per person without drinks and we immediately saw that this was not up to standard and not worth the price. The famous Italian restaurant that we were looking forward to is also no longer available and is now used for private events only so this was a let down.
As to private events, we were only informed the day of our arrival that a wedding was scheduled to take place the following evening at the beach bar restaurant. On a Tuesday evening. This is unacceptable. At first we didnt say anything, because we didnt realise how much of an imposition this would be. We should have been informed long before our arrival and been given the choice to cancel the stay and get a full refund. We were not given this choice. Instead, we had to deal with loud music until Midnight as we were directly across from the Beach bar and it is an open air venue and does not have a closed off section or room. Aftet this, we had wedding employees clearing up chairs and packing things away and also restaurant staff throwing out bottles and cleaning as thenonyl way to do this, is in the walkway directly opposite our room. and we heard it all. It was awful.
If asked if I would ever stay here again, the awnser would be no. Unless there is a guarentee that these issues are fixed and people are be given the information they deserve to make an informed choice. Especially when then pay the prices they do at this awful hotel.
Im not able to upload sound recordings of the wedding and the noise but I have these on request @Radisson...
