Just back from a fantastic 10 day stay and already pricing up our return visit!
The accommodation: Laid out like a village, the buildings are two story. The apartments themselves are spacious and has very efficient air con in both the bedroom and the kitchen/living area. The bed was really comfy, and had a light duvet instead of a flimsy sheet which was a welcome change to most hotels! If you’re going as a family, the other bed/s also double up as the sofa, which might not be ideal if your children go to bed long before you do. They also put a back on one of the beds to make into a sofa and it’s not comfortable at all - not a problem when you’re rarely in the room though!
The village: The village is well maintained with lots of greenery and fruit trees dotted about. Also a lot of cats in the evening so expect everything to take longer to get to, as you have to greet every one! There’s usually food and water dotted about for them too, and the vast majority look pretty healthy.
The pool: a big pool, which remains relatively shallow everywhere (but still plenty deep for swimming). Sloped entry at one side so very helpful for anyone who might have physical impairments. Never struggled to get a sunbed even when we didn’t turn up til 10am. Always plenty spare too so quite often moved throughout the day depending on where the sun was. This was in September, might be a different story in the summer! The pool bar has lots of choices and whilst we don’t drink, they do a mean iced coffee too! Few activities around the pool throughout the day, a stretch class, some water sports and a darts tournament most days but no pressure to partake.
The food: Breakfast was good, with plenty of hot and cold choices. The ladies in charge of breakfast are all lovely, and after a couple of days remember your room number! Lunch options were perfectly fine, pittas, wraps etc. Even better that you can charge to the room so don’t have to carry cash around the pool.
Location: In the evenings there’s plenty of restaurants directly outside the hotel, or a steady 20 minute walk to the harbour (costal path much nicer, but takes a bit longer, if you’re in a rush probably walk along the road. It’s also very dark, but heavily populated so never felt nervous). The beach is just a five minute walk. Also within walking distance of the water park.
Honestly struggle to find any negatives of this hotel and...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for 7 days, which was just the right amount of time for our holiday. As we prepared our own meals each day, we were pleased to find that the kitchen was reasonably well-equipped with essentials such as pans, bowls, knives, forks, and spoons.
However, the hotel did not provide any dishwashing items. If you plan to cook regularly, I recommend bringing washing-up liquid, a sponge, dishcloths, and kitchen towels. These can also be easily found at a nearby supermarket. Cooking oil was not provided either, so I used butter as an alternative. Additionally, there were no indoor slippers, so I suggest bringing your own for comfort.
The outdoor swimming pool was lovely and there were plenty of sunbeds available, so finding a spot to relax was never an issue. That said, the cleanliness of the pool could have been improved. There was also an indoor pool, although we didn’t make use of it during our stay.
Our youngest child thoroughly enjoyed the kids’ club, which she attended every day. She spent her time colouring, drawing, and playing with dolls. The staff were attentive, caring, and supportive, which gave us great peace of mind.
In the evenings, the hotel offered various family-friendly entertainment programmes. Each night began with a mini disco that our daughter absolutely loved. One evening there was even a parrot show, which was a real highlight for the whole family. While some events were better than others, having these evening activities really added to the overall enjoyment of our stay.
The hotel is not located in the centre of Paphos, but it was easy to reach the harbour area and other attractions by bus. A single bus journey cost €3 per adult, and a daily pass was €6.50. The local buses also provided access to several fascinating historical sites, including the Tombs of the Kings and the House of Dionysus. Exploring these ancient ruins was a meaningful experience. However, we did find the heat quite challenging, especially as many buses lacked proper air conditioning and the archaeological sites offered little shade. Despite the heat, it turned out to be a truly meaningful and unforgettable experience.
One feature we especially appreciated was the on-site laundry room, which was very convenient during our stay.
Overall, we had a lovely and memorable family holiday. The facilities, entertainment, and friendly staff made it a pleasant...

Cyprus is like Greece so everywhere asks you not to put toilet roll down the toilet, and this was no problem because the bins in the apartment were emptied daily, even on the 2 days they say housekeeping doesn’t come round.
Room safe good – 35 euros for the two weeks, digital lock and you choose your own code.
We were rather hesitant as on arrival we found out the in April 25 the hotel had become ‘card only’ and no longer took cash anywhere, not even at reception to clear your room bill as previous reviewers had said. However we were reassured when we found out that each bar seems to be able to see the names of the people linked to the room, so as well as asking for your room number to charge a bar-bill to, they also check your name and signature. This works very well.
Avanti Village is linked to Avanti Hotel a short stroll away along a lit footpath, and you can use the facilities of both. Neither do food in the evenings but the lobby bars are open until late. Really liked the swim-up bars at both sites, and being able to charge to room was a bonus as you don’t normally swim with your wallet! Reception were very helpful with queries about tourist maps, and interesting places to go to with the hire car. The only negative we had is that Tui’s site indicates cycle hire can be arranged, however when we asked at reception they knew nothing about it and directed us to Tripadvisor to find a hire shop locally instead.
Location is a half-hour stroll from the harbour area, which is a bit more lively, however there are restaurants and a handful of bars enroute to the harbour. Finding a quiet bar nearby was a bit more of a challenge as lots of them were sports-bars with multiple screens and loud music. Bus stops close by and the number 611 goes all the way to the Tomb of the Kings bus station, via the harbour area. Single is 2 euros for any length journey. They also do a ‘dayrider’ ticket for 6.50 which is handy if you want to go into the main town which needs 2 buses to get to it.
Decent establishment and we would happily stay here again if we revisit...
