I slept on top of one of the wooden bench shelters for around 5 days after arriving in Paphos, having arrived early my rented accommodation was not ready for me.
The beach itself is comfortable with a lot of growth, some people complain about this but honestly these days its a welcome sight to see something other than urban construction and desert brush, so I'm open to non-human signs of life wherever I can find them.
The beach facilities were adequate for my needs, I had a shower in the morning and evening (They are open 24h from what I can tell), temperature around this time of year (summer) rarely drops lower than 18°C so if you're planning a night time visit then you don't have to worry too much about brining a jacket. The stars are almost always visible with the occasional cloud blocking view, but the light pollution from the city is negligible.
If you're looking to swim then the water is warm but I recommend wearing water shoes or a pair of old trainers to protect your feet (although I would recommend this on pretty much any beach where its likely you might step on something nasty).
If you're looking for a more quiet and natural beach than the classic tourist hotspots then this is definitly the place to be, personally I prefer the night time because the temperature during the day can make it very easy to suffer heat related illnesses, although this is not a great problem of you come prepared.
There are significantly more people during the day but the sea is consistently the same temperature whenever you come, so a night time swim can be a lot more private than a daytime one and just as (If not more) enjoyable, although you might opt for the latter if you have kids or are looking exclusively to tan.
There are probably comparably better beaches in the area if you're talking objectively but subjectively this is a great...
Read moreWorking in the pedestrian area of Faros Beach, so close to the magnificent Elysium Hotel, was an absolutely amazing and lovely experience. My days were filled with the gentle sound of the Mediterranean waves and the soft sea breeze, creating a work environment that was both calming and invigorating. The location itself is a dream. Being just steps away from the golden sands of Faros Beach meant that breaks were spent with stunning sea views, watching the world go by. The pedestrian area has a wonderfully relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere, with happy holidaymakers strolling by, adding to the positive energy of the place. The proximity to the Elysium Hotel brought a touch of elegance to the everyday. The beautifully maintained surroundings and the general high standard of the area created a really pleasant and premium feel. It was truly a joy to be in such a picturesque and well-kept part of Paphos. I couldn't have asked for a more delightful setting for my work; it was a truly...
Read moreTypical beach facilities available albeit a bit old an worn. There was a great café serving the most amazing food in particular the calamari, the salads would comfortably feed two and the chips cooked in olive oil were delicious. The sand was fine but there was an enormous amount of dead seaweed with no sign of it being cleared. Access to the sea was either by the shore line but it was risky enough because of all the stone, or by the steps from the jetty, this area was covered in seaweed and after entered the sea you had to navigate your way through the seaweed for several metres to get clear. All that said the water was fantastic and for the 1st of October the extremely warm. The strong wind kept the temperature down don’t be fooled...
