I visited the taverna last night to taste Cypriot seafood. It was a beautiful dining experience - food, service and atmosphere were very pleasant. I'll start from the food and then proceed with the others.
I had Seasoned octopus grilled followed by swordfish souvlaki (the latter being the catch of the day). Octopus was presented very well and carefully grilled. It was presented on a bed of cutted fresh tomatoes and accompanied by fresh seafood mayonesse (a specialty of the chef resonating the taste of the octopus). The octopus was crunchy and tasty. Swordfish souvlaki was delicious - I could sense the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Vegetables were fresh and crunchy and chips were hand-cut. To complete, I tried local white wine suggested by the host. It was fine and complimented the food.
Staff was courteous, kind, accommodating and attentive. At my arrival, the host, Emily, showed me the ingredients used to prepare dinner and allowed me to taste the white wine. Waiter was caring and checked if food was appreciated. Finally, chef came to check in at the table to ensure that the octopus and the sauce were appreciated. Overall, staff and service did very well.
As to the atmosphere; situated in Paphos, near the main street, the taverna is decorated nicely. It is a few steps away from shops and bars. A good starting point to the evening to follow.
It was a lovely dining experience - staff was professional and food was delightful. I strongly...

After traveling a week in Cyprus, we were not expecting too much from the foods anymore. Relative to other Mediterranean countries, we stumbled upon overcooked Octopuses, dry meats, bitter Olives, dry breads and more. However, we went into Kingfisher open minded as always and their team truly surprised very positively.
We started with Oysters (freshly made and great with Tabasco sauce-pairing). Next, we destroyed the Carpaccio and some Shrimps in Tomato sauce and went then to the hero of the day: Larry the Lobster with some pasta, which had been cooked nicely to be al-dente. We wrapped all of it up with their homemade Helva Ice Cream / Lava Cake mashup - perfectly sweet and tasty and a nice culmination of a good meal.
Beyond the food, the team made an incredible effort to give us a superb service and the chef came out to great us. Fine hospitality and we recommend this place to everyone seeking a good experience in...
Read moreI have visited the Tavern several so far—and the food has always been delicious. What truly makes this place special is the owner. She is very helpful and friendly, always smiling and extremely welcoming towards guests. She comes to the tables, recommends the freshest fish, and shares plenty of stories about each type—explaining their unique qualities and suggesting which ones might best suit your tastes.
She often invites guests to the counter, asks about their preferences, and matches the fish perfectly to individual likes, offering her own thoughtful opinions. She knows all the fish names in Greek, Polish, and English, making the experience even more enjoyable and accessible for everyone. I highly recommend this place for both the wonderful cuisine and the warm, personal atmosphere created...
