HuNan Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Paphos Municipality

I do not recommend this restaurant at all, it has been an awful experience. First, the service is lousy. The boss of the restaurant is quite cold, and he speaks irony words when we request to change our seats as we continue to smell toilet smells coming down from the second floor. The whole restaurant is quite cold. The most unacceptable thing is that we waited almost 50mins to have anything to eat! There is only one cook. We can accept to wait a little bit, but 50 mins is exaggerating, especially they could at least provide the cold dish. Second, the quality of dishes are under average. Hunan dishes have one speciality is that they chop everything finely, but here I think it is obvious how astonishing they treated the vegetables: what a large leaf! And about braised pork belly, I can only say as one of the representative dishes in Hunan cuisine, this is unacceptable and has nothing to do with the real one. The soup is made from supermarket bought broth base and very salty. The only dish is acceptable is the cold spiced pig ear and beef dish. A warm, friendly welcome. Great service and probably the best chinese food I've had. If wanting to dine here, I would advise phoning ahead as it does get busy and if busy please have a little patience. The food is worth the wait.

We observed several rude people while dining, no manners and were informed of the waiting time. They proceeded to order drinks that were about to be taken to table when they decided they couldn't wait and walked out. However, this didn't affect our first experience dining here and I strongly recommend. Just to add, the restaurant is near to the big roundabout by the shopping mall. A really good meal. We had a variety of ‘western Chinese’ and authentic Chinese dishes which were all fresh and hot. The restaurant was quiet when we visited and it felt rather as though we were dining with the family. The lady serving was exceptionally friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the event. The portions are just right - they kindly boxed up our remaining dishes for us to enjoy the following day. We had spent quite a while researching the Chinese restaurants around Paphos before booking (via WhatsApp) and I feel we made a good choice, albeit we have only eaten at this one.
